Mario Balotelli: AC Milan agree deal to sign Manchester City striker

<!--url{0}--> AC Milan have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli on a four-and-a-half-year contract, the Italian club's director Umberto Gandini has confirmed.

Former Inter Milan striker Balotelli, 22, will have a medical in Milan on Wednesday before signing his contract.

An initial fee of 22m euros (£19m) is believed to have been paid, rising to 25m euros (£22m) with add-ons.

Manchester City have declined to comment on the news.

The Italy international had travelled with City to London for the Premier League game against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday evening, when manager Roberto Mancini is likely to comment on the deal.

Gandini said on Twitter: "Transfer agreement for Balotelli signed with Manchester City. Medical is tomorrow [Wednesday] in Milan, then personal terms until 2017 will be signed."

Manchester City signed Balotelli for £24m in 2010 with the striker scoring 20 Premier League goals for the club.

Balotelli's departure comes weeks after he was involved in a training ground altercation with Mancini.

That was the last in a series of controversies during his time with the Premier League champions.

Shortly after signing he made the headlines for crashing his car and in March 2011 he was said to have thrown a dart at a Manchester City youth-team player.

In July that year he angered Mancini during a pre-season friendly against Los Angeles Galaxy when he nonchalantly back-heeled wide when through on goal.

He set off a firework inside his home in October and two months later he was involved in a training ground bust-up with team-mate Micah Richards.

This season Balotelli made 20 appearances for City, 12 of those from the bench, scoring three goals.

Manchester United fans will be in unity over this! 20 Million is an insane figure for him, many people around Manchester felt this when City first paid for him but at least then he came with promising signs. One Premiership player many will no miss!!

He's an odd one but I can say despite his negatives, I will miss laughing at him. (which sounds bad)

Not for the fact he couldn't put a bib on or the fact he tried to outskill/show off when he clearly didn't need to do it but because our game was slightly better for having someone like him who did do good things. Such as driving the fan to his school over him being bullied and so on, he was made an escape goat by the press and I dislike his anger just as much as the next guy. He can't take all the blame :)

20m is crazy money. On Football Manager he always ends up getting stuck in their reserve team and then leaving for around 1m to 4m.

Love him or hate him, the English game will miss him when he leaves. He is a character, bit of an eccentric, but he's not a bad person, has a lot of good in him. I'd much rather have him in the Premier League with his crazy but silly antics than a certain headlining bunch of thugs, racists and cheaters (no names mentioned of course)...

thank goodness. i cant stand the bloke.

at least he won't be wasting our firemen/police time with setting off fireworks, seeing thieves in his house (who turn out to be his shaddow) etc.

See here:

Playing with fireworks in his bathroom, because shortly after they used him in a fireworks safety campaign....which is ironic but I guess some kids would listen

Then this a month later:
