Just pulled out an article from The Mirror... about the Christmas day truce of 1914...

I didn't realise that people were still killed that day, and a letter from one of the officers saying he couldn't leave the trench in case he was shot by sniper.

It is good that this will continue to be remembered, as at least a small shining light upon the face of humanity, and what we can continue to strive for...

81 people still died that day, remarkable, were they the first 81 to go over into no mans land? where they in a different part of the front? it isn't clear, but it shocked me that people still died, as I hadn't heard that part before
