Who are yours?

Football well you all know that Alan Buckley is GOD for me :D  but other footy heroes would be Bobby Moore, George Best and Jimmy Greaves.

Cricket would be  Geoff Boycott, Ian Botham, Bob Willis and Alan Knott.

Snooker can only be one- Alex Higgins although Jimmy White another highly talented snooker player.

Boxing... M. Ali and Henry Cooper.

Don't really follow any other sports.

An impressive list sadlad, all greats.I would have to add Brian Clough(With Peter Taylor) and all the players who helped make The Rams English footballing Champions, especially Peter Daniel who stood in for Roy Macfarland for most of one season(Mac was injured playing for England)and never once let the side down.

Football; Dennis Bergkamp, Gazza and Michael Johnson

Cricket; No comment... Horrible sport, very dull. <_< To be honest I don't, Brian Lara is someone I respected as a child/teen.

Snooker; Not my cup of tea

Boxing; Butterbean (loved the guy)

Football: Tony Hateley (of course) and Jimmy Sirrell, I once had the chance to meet him but was too shy to go and say hello so my wife took a programme and asked him to sign it, she said he was a delight to talk to.

Cricket: Colin Cowdrey, Ian Botham, Basil D'Oliveira.

Snooker: Jimmy White

Boxing: Cassius Clay or Mohammed (what's my name?) Ali as he preferred to be called.

I remember 1967 when he thought Tyrell who insisted on calling him Cassius Clay, everytime Ali punched him he shouted "What's my name?"

I remember seeing Everton play in the same year and their fans were chanting "What's our name? Everton!, What's our name? Everton"

Hmm, that's brought back memories that I will share on a separate thread here http://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/topic/250-1967-nottm-florist-v-everton/

SteveMUP-what about George Best.Apart from his self destruct personal life to me he was one of the most complete footballers ever. What a pity he never  competed in the world cup.
