Another player you couldn't help but admire, oh he had his chances, bigger clubs came calling, is it any wonder he is an absolute Icon and hero to the supporters of Southampton FC?

I only saw him once, and Xavi was right, he could run but half job with the ball no more than about a foot from his boot through as many as he wanted, people rave about that Maradona goal against England, but Le Tiss did this week in week out... He really was Super talented IMO

Your thoughts? Was he right to stay at Southampton for 16 years? In terms of English players, just how good was he? God? Idol?

I always felt Newcastle or Tottenham would suite him as a player, though I admire what he did at Southampton.

He was unselfish for staying around and he was one of the best players who never really got selected for England, why? Because he played for an unattractive club. I mean only 8 caps? Jesus, I know players who should never have been selected who have 30-50 caps. Difference? They had 35-50% of his talented but played for an attractive club.

To say he never moved to better his chances, I'd say he deserves all the credit for his achievements.

He's also a nice person, I met him once when Southampton played Forest and I worked at a certain place.
