Serves you right for being a Derby fan @super_ram ;)

Brilliant blog, thanks for posting! Think I need another holiday now. Reminds me of my trip to County Kerry a long time ago, stunning views but as a sulky 15-year-old I didn't really appreciate them as I would today. The house we stayed in was full of crucifixes too, really creeped me out.

If I add in the wonderful time we had down south on the hook peninsula... Ireland is the place to go...we rented ours through Imagine Ireland, although other holiday cottage rental companies may be available.. nods

Good time to travel across the sea as the Sterling is very strong against the Euro. That won't change for a while. It's funny but I never holiday in Ireland, I always go abroad. I love going to London, France and Italy especially. Prague for me this year. Looking forward to it.

I would recommend Ireland to anybody. Getting there is the main expense to be honest. Flying is great but you need to pay for a hire car. Driving over is cheaper, but the driving there and back from the midlands is a long day.

going as a foot passenger is the cheapest, but again if you are touring the car is needed at the other end.
