Not long to go now and I'll be settling in front of the telly to enjoy a bottle of whisky and the cream of the continent's musical talent ()! Is anyone else looking forward to it? For some reason everyone seems to hate it but has an opinion on it all the same!

I've got to admit I quite like it. Yes the voting is annoying but a lot of it is due to migrants phoning in and voting for their home country. As I always vote for the UK, I can't really talk ...

It's top notch entertainment (especially in combination with alcohol) and some of the songs are pretty decent too, especially when you look at the last few winners. Our problem is that we just dismiss the whole thing as a bit of fluff and send in some tacky rubbish, thinking "well, it'll do for Eurovision". With our musical tradition, it's just embarrasing that we send 80-year-olds to be laughed at all over Europe. Let's at least try.

The Germans, on the other hand, have taken it all extremely seriously ever since Lena won it and I always have a good laugh at the look of shock, surprise and disappointment in the presenters' faces when they finish 20th again! It almost compensates for seeing Lena's annoying face on TV again.

You have to drink to get through it, sadly my alternative is to switch over but I do have a good laugh at some of the acts afterwards. YouTube is your best friend for that.

Bring back WOGAN!!! Him alone could have got me through anything, his witty humour made the show worth watching. Norton is awful!

I know the bald bloke, he's a Notts fan.

I love LT United! I'm going to drive people crazy now because I tend to sing this just to see my families reaction. Man what a great, enjoyable cheesy song this is! Vote, vote, vote for the winners. We are the winners!! Haha

Yeah, when I heard this myself I had to check it wasn't April the 1st. Absolute joke that they are pushing things like this, including the famous acts. Keep it open for amateurs and people not very well known. Lordy sake!

I like what you did there. Lordy (spelled with an i) won the Eurovision song contest for Finland in 2006. Finland's one and only victory in the competition. This was their song:

I agree with @upthepies ,Wogan was brilliant and used to have me in stitches.Australia's participation could confuse the political voters

I don't really watch it, but it can be funny to see some of the strange/silly acts including our own.. As its usually something thats not even worth giving points to.

It seems pointless nowadays, the entertainment has gone and the value. Its rubbish like the rest of the TV.

A night out @magpiejue? It's the best night in of the year! And besides, all the alcohol in my flat won't drink itself!

I missed the semi-final as the missus was watching her Turkish soap opera. The female lead (whose baby was kidnapped last week and then returned when the kidnapper had a change of heart) was out in the car when her driver was assassinated. The car ends up in the sea, she's missing presumed dead, and her husband and family go into mourning. However, she was actually rescued from the car by her secret admirer and is on life support in a private hospital suite he just so happens to have in his house. Personally I think Eurovision is much more exciting.

The best bit was @GrannyPie,@William84 and me predicting how the voting would go.It's not the same without Wogan.

I thought it was a poor competition this year. Too many power ballads and not enough variety this time. I barely heard our entry for laughter, which was just as well. The woman from Albania was out of tune throughout and deserved 0. Unfortunately for me I started on the whisky a bit late, meaning I was sober for most songs. The voting was fun though, especially the 3 (three) points San Marino gave us. Apologies to the neighbours.

I pine for Graham Norton, never mind Wogan. You should hear the pompous fool who does the commentary on German TV. Needs a a geography lesson, seems to think all former eastern bloc countries are neighbours ("oh look, Poland have given Azerbaijan 10 points again").

Germany's entry was very poor this year. It was only their second choice though - the winner decided he didn't want to take part, live on air! Real shame too, it was the stand-out song the competition lacked and could well have won:

We had the grandkids over for a sleepover too, @tonyhateley, told 'em we'd have a Eurovision party, then ended up watching Britains Got Talent. Lol
