£35,250 for a football programme! Think the most I've paid for a programme is about 8 quid lol

Scary thing is the fact some don't appreciate gems like this, though the figure is insane. It's also sort of cool, hope it's not an impulse buying millionaire but someone who will be proud of it.

I refer to this fact in the next of the 150 years of Football articles, James (Coming soon)..It's amazing that the previous record was beaten by so much .

I shall keep a look out for your next article @Super-ram, always a very interesting read mate :)

@notts-joe The programme was bought by the Old Etonians Football Club to go on display at Eton College's Museum of Eton Life.

The Programme IS the oldest known  for the F.A.Cup Final and though it was only one sheet does have great historical value particularly for Eton College.

I'm glad you enjoy my articles, James(just waiting for Joe to post it) I will be starting the next one tomorrow,  which will be about football up to the end of the 19th century. I will try to show how Soccer developed by re-capping and adding some more details.I will also add a small piece about 'Football's First Superstar'

Do you have any idea who he is? Tony guessed on another thread after a few clues.

Your old programmes could still fetch a few bob, Tony. You never know , you may have 1 or 2 that are collectable .I bet there are a lot of fond memories inside them, though and that's worth more than money sometimes.

I did sell quite a few when we moved house, there were some quite old ones from the 50s and 60s but they don't fetch much, the ones I have left didn't sell. As for fond memories I sometimes can't remember what happened yesterday let alone 50 years ago. :joker:

It is good to look at them now and again and remember some of the old players.

I won't comment any more about your memory , Tony (people who live in glass houses and all that) I think I've said enough on the Favourite Childrens Programme thread. :)
