Car Parking Survey

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am currently putting together a study on car parking facilities & supporter preferences at all 92 current football league clubs and I would really appreciate a few minutes of your time to complete a short survey.

I'm hoping that this will allow me to put these results forward to some of the clubs in order to help improve the match day experience for supporters.

Many thanks in advance!

I had a go at the survey, but didn't complete it as the questions don't really apply to my circumstances.  Paying to park a car is one of my pet hates, I avoid it if at all possible.  If I used one of the £4 car parks near the ground it would cost me £100+ over the season.  I used to use the free street parking around the Freeth St / Holme St area, but a load of double yellow lines made it harder to find a space.  Then I got lucky, I was having a moan about it when a mate who works at SCS in Lady Bay retail park said he could put my number plate down as the second staff number he is allowed.  You are limited to 90 minutes there on match days, but I've got all day if I want it!  Where does everyone else park?

@Elite_pie Clifton Park and Ride Tram for me. The way the survey is set out seems to suggest the misguided notion that most football clubs have their own spare land for their own car parks. That's probably only the case for the newer out of town stadiums. The biggest issue for car parking near the ground can be the amount of time / pollution caused sitting in the car waiting to get out... Wycombe and Oxford are cases in point. Coventry's Ricoh car parking charges were a rip off.

A memory of my early days at Notts was the Gash's Football Special bus with seemingly "exotic" destinations like East Bridgford, waiting in Meadow Lane.

I agree with Elite regarding the  pet hates of paying car  parking charges.

Now where's that monorail survey?

I've only been to the Ricoh once, looked at the charges beforehand and searched for an alternative.  There is a big retail park right next door to the ground, but again parking is limited to 90 minutes on matchdays.  I then noticed that you could park all day if you spent more than £20 at Tesco, so I nipped in and took advantage of the offer of 3 cases of beer for £20, added a bag of crisps, job done!

Public transport for me , only in Clifton so makes sense , quiet a few routes pass by the ground or in reasonable walking distance for those able .

Normally take public transport so I can have a few sherberts but on the odd occasion I drive I try and find somewhere off Meadows Way, or anywhere else in Meadows.
