No Bajner No Party

Joined the long list of totally useless centre forwards that we have had since Hughesy and was one of the disastrous New Year trio that Derry signed. Never thought I would here his name again to be honest.

I always felt he had potential.

He held the ball up well, players struggled to get the ball off him and although most of the time he didn't pull off a good shot. He shown more skill than many of the strikers we have seen over the recent years, at least those who are substandard and lacking match sharpness. I honestly hoped we had of kept him, as I did felt he could have done well in League Two. Yet he was pretty raw and unpolished as a striker, yet he is one of them who probably doesn't have a footballing brain to proceed in English football.

Bajner came across as someone very pampered, however with better players around him perhaps he may have shown better signs?

@Piethagoram Of course.

Yet he could have made the difference for someone like McLeod who has pace (when he could be bothered to run). Even Stead could have benefited from Banjer's clever touches, but he did fail to deliver - for me the promise there more than it wasn't. Stability, consistency and a good run could have help him massively. Also, strikers aren't all about scoring these days, there's a reason why Premier League teams tend to start a single striker up top.

The days of two out-for-out strikers is a rare thing, not just in English football but throughout Europe.

from Gazetta di Modena:

It definitely will breathe a different air today at Zelocchi, when the Modena will return to get to work to begin preparing the first away match of the season on the field of FeralpiSalò. Merit of convincing evidence provided by the Canaries debut, ripping a great draw in the derby against Parma built to center the promotion to Serie B. The confidence must be supported by the latest market transactions, hoping that they can add or remove key players the pink available to mister Pavan. Among the fans, however, there is above all a lot of curiosity, because today you will see for the first time the work Balint Bajner, the Hungarian striker, 25, caught at their own surprise on earth Magyar; a nearly two meters tall giant who has already attended the match against Parma, and that has had a story to tell. Bajner fact has experience of all kinds, from those in German and English lower divisions: dressed for two seasons the shirt of Borussia Dortmund II, the club's reserve team emblazoned giallonero, removing even the satisfaction of being summoned by Jurgen Klopp in first team, collecting a presence in the Bundesliga, scoring in a friendly against Albacete and touch as well a resounding call on the bench in the final of the Champions League in 2013 with Bayern, but he was also able to become a fan favourite of Notts County ( complete with a chorus of "No Bajner no party") in the six months of living in League One after having spent so many in the Championship with Ipswich. England was already 18 years to play in the Spring of one of the most glorious London club, West Ham. The most prolific season, though, Bajner who lived right in Italy, when in 2011 he signed with an Abruzzo clubs to try to break through. Ivano Bonetti was then leader of Sulmona, to offer him a better chance of Excellence brother's advice and former soccer player Dario, who had trained in Hungary in Sopron. Season ended with 11 goals in 18 league games and winning the Italian Cup category. Instead of being open the doors of Italian professional football, in Bajner surprise found himself disputed by the two Borussia, with Dortmund that appeared on Monchengladbach. His tour of Europe, marked by more or less fortunate return to his homeland, makes a stop again in our country, hoping might allow him to find that consecration so far not been reached. That the Hungarian striker has means
and desire to emerge is not discussed, but to take the big leap will serve to improve the aspect of embodiment, all the more so because at the Modena right now serving goals. Only in this way, even from Montagnani curve, he can get up the chorus "No Bajner no party".
