Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony talks lower league transfer window issues

I hate to say it, though Peterborough United are among one of the clubs who have created this situation by throwing money at Non-League players in order to get them to sign (which is a tad bit ironic). Birmingham City threw money at Matt Green, he was never worth the fee they paid and allegedly he was on salary considerably multiplied from that the Stags had paid. The problem about football is clubs sign a lot of players just to prevent rivals from obtaining them, or they gamble on large squads or just throw money at people.

Notts hasn't really been a club that can afford to do this, so at least we are a part of the solution.

More clubs should evaluate players more wisely.

the greed from the premier league will always fall down the leagues but for non league players at least its life changing. it does not make it right but when a premiership player can buy 50 houses for their salary it weights things up for players looking to step up.
