No stand-out candidates, but as we offered little attacking threat but managed to keep a clean sheet I'd have to go for Shaun Brisley.  He stood up well to the physical threat Grimsby posed up front and did the simple things well.  One of those games where no player was poor, but no player was outstanding.

My vote goes to Fitzsimons... Dembele sucked in 4 Notts player, then delivering a killer ball across the area, looked a certain goal but Ross produced the save when it mattered.

An excellent tip over followed and also found time to act as sweeper with Duffy and Brisley beaten.

I've gone for Brisley but I was 50/50 between him and Fitzsimons. Both was solid and did what was expected of them in their respective positions.
