We will be in it yes :) It's basically a competition between teams from League 1 and League 2 only. The 48 teams taking part are split into two sections - North and South, and teams can only play another side from their section. The semi finals then consist of two "area finals" between two northern teams and two southern teams, and these are played over two legs - one match at each sides ground.

The final is then played at Wembley Stadium between the winner of the Northern final and the winner of the Southern final.

If matches end in a draw, they go straight to penalties with no extra time.

Sadly Notts' record in this competition has been pretty poor over the years. Last season was the first time we've won a tie in it since the early 00s. The competition was won by Crewe Alexandra last season, who defeated Southend United 2-0 in the final.

Hope this was helpful @Italian Magpies :)

We never do well or take it seriously, it's sort of a none serious cup but it would be nice.

From the football league website:

Round 1 - week commencing 2nd September

Round 2 - week commencing 7th October
Area Quarter Finals - Week commencing 11th November
Area Semi Finals - week commencing 9th December

Area final first legs - week commencing 3rd February (subject to change)
Area final second legs - week commencing 17th February  (subject to change)
Final - Sunday 30th March

I'm not too sure when the draw for the first round takes place. I would imagine in a few weeks time. They usually do it live on Soccer AM
