Re-signing lost/former PON members

I'm hoping to continue to build bridges for PON during 2018, there's many people I know that could make such a huge or significant impact with this community and I'm personally hoping I can welcome them back.

Some might not, that's just the way things are but I have to try.

I must add that I am delighted to see @Fan of Big Tone and @hissingdwarf back here and, with newer members such as @UnitedPie and @ARLukomski - I know the community has people who can help me drive it forward. I've messaged a few people recently, some I have been putting off but today after Notts released the retained list - I felt inspired to go for it.

I ask all PON members who read this, write why you enjoy the site and let's see if we coax some people back or welcome other new people to our community.

I’ve always loved Pon cause of the people and the banter the fact that we are all here cause we are notts County fans. And because of the way it run and handled trying to get people together as a group to do activity’s or just chat about the games and transfers. All the fans on here just want to have a laugh and share the love for notts and no one on here swears or makes anyone else feel bad.

there must be a few people who miss and value the site that can come back, all it takes is for people to be involved. pon is a great community and will only get better when people realise this.

i enjoy the site because people like @Chris have made me welcome and i feel like i am connected with supporters here.

It's just somewhere to chat and catch up on everything Notts related.

There is no nonsense like on other places and you can tell the sites ran by people who care [it can go quiet], so I will always put in my thoughts when there are things to be discussed.

It feels like it's been rejuvenated. Luke and Ryan I hope can come back to the site permanently. It's been really nice to share views with others and be able to just have a nice chat. It's a really good way of getting out the awful reality of life, especially what I'm going through. Everyone gets along with each other really well and it feels like a community

@Chris it’s official Pon is back .. it’s great to have the old Pon back and all you guys cause it is a great paige made to feel welcome and your views count

If we can regain members who stopped viewing or joining in, we should take to the supporters page catch up with some players on twitter perhaps even get some of the legends of the lane to join in with this site to gain a community and get views from both fans and players. Also commentators, the likes of Stallard who regularly comments after games in post match interviews if he was to join in maybe he could entise people to join in.

I’ve been a member on here since 2012, I had a break away from it for around two years and talked about Notts on Facebook and Twitter but being a shy sensitive type () I found that the abuse you can receive for having a viewpoint different to others was getting me down so I returned here to get my Notts fix and I am so glad I did.

I love the banter and community feel of the place and I know that if I have an opinion that isn’t shared by someone else I’m not going to be name called or swore at. There is an awful lot of bullying goes on in social media thankfully this site is not one of those.

I know from first hand experience how much hard work is involved in running a forum and website so @Chris deserves all the success that will surely come his way.

I'm still here. Like fanofbigtone says, this site is a whole lot better than some of the others.

I think with a concerted effort, PoN can return to its glory days so to speak. By that I don't refer to members as such, more the fact that people engaged on a regular basis. This is what any forum strives for and @Chris deserves all our support in getting back to that.

This board isn't MAD and is far more friendly and polite. People can converse in a safe way and know they'll be treated respectfully. The tendency to wards FB is to be expected, but as @Fan of Big Tone said the bullying aspect and 'keyboard warriors' make me feel a place like this is not only better, but needed.

The off season is normally quiet, as to be expected, but if people make an effort to not just look, but start new topics as well, then PoN will be fine. Onwards and upwards!

PON must take a considerable amount of dedication from those that drive the site forward, I always read the site but for one reason or another I did stop posting. I will make my available more timely and reinvest some of it back into this community.

Good luck with the future endeavours @Chris.

I think to make this a great community we need to post on a regular basis, as my little dwarf friend @hissingdwarf says the close season will be fairly quiet, so why not post on other non football related topics, just tell us what you are up to, what's going on in your life, funny anecdotes, etc., this will make a huge difference, lets make this place buzz with activity. :hyper:

I fall into this bracket, I read the site all the time and I'm on the social media a fair bit. When the site goes quiet I just tend to drop back, I have met @liampie a few times at games and he's very much what I would call a hardcore PON user.

People get on board and join in! PON is a lot of fun and it would be nice to get to know other community members.

Those returning will be made to feel welcome I am certain because PON seems to be all about being supportive.

The trouble nowadays is that a lot of people stick to Facebook - it's very immediate and it's easier just to add your penn'orth there rather than messing around registering for a forum. Which is a shame, as this is the place for an in-depth discussion.

That's why far more people respond to PON Facebook posts than post here. I feel there's a large pool of people on the fringes of PON on Facebook anyway, and that's where new recruits can be found :)

I agree but they need to be encouraged to post on here, you only have to register once, how do we get them over here? Perhaps more Facebook posts should link to a topic on here rather than posting the topic on Facebook, maybe even disable responses on Facebook so they have to come here to comment, or is that too drastic? :huh2:

I just stopped posting, like others before I do read but a little more casually than I would have liked. I do aim to pop on when time permits as I do like PON, its great for reading up on opinions.

I don't think you can disable responses on Facebook. Even if you could, Facebook works in such a way that posts with more comments are shown to more people, so disabling them would be counterproductive.

My point is that Facebook would be the place to try to drum up interest as there are already many people on there who are "on the fringes" of PON, so to speak. But surely there's a more imaginative way to do it than simply calling for people to register.
