The Sterling 'gun' debate...

Featured Replies

Total non news story. He has a tattoo on his own body, not for others to judge.

People go around idolising crack-head music stars, a footballer gets a gun tattoo and the world loses their collective mind.Β

The S*n doesn't like the fact that a confident black man is excelling in a profession which is a dream for many and getting paid highly for it as well.

They simply have it in for him. It's not just this gun tattoo thing, it's other completely trivial rubbish done just to rile up the gammon brigade and attempt to turn the guy into an object of ridicule.

I hate the Sun with a passion (along with the Daily Mail), when I started reading the story I thought what a load of old rubbish, then I read on and thought to myself if my son had been shot dead perhaps I’d feel different about guns being glamourised, finally I got to the end of the article and read Sterling’s account of why he has the tattoo and I can accept that if it is true, it certainly seems plausible.

As I don't read the S*n all that has passed me by, but how ridiculous are the stories about the cheap flights and Primark? If he'd chartered his own flight they'd be whipping up outrage over that too.

It’s just been blown out of proportion.. not every player wants to flaunt what they earn he is from humble back grounds and maybe wanted to go back he can’t win either way.

as for the gun if he had his socks up fully we wouldn’t see it I have ink but I’m not I. The public I think someone may want to ask why he got it not all ink is for show.

As said before this isn't even worthy of a story, I don't care what he does, how much he earns or how he spends his money. I don't even care if he plays poorly for his club or country, it's down to someone else to manage this.

The UK media just pick at players hoping they'll fail.

It doesn't remotely bother or concern me, it's his body and I don't wish to be someone who takes offence to things like this easily. If Sterling had the tattoo placed somewhere like his forehead, then maybe I'd have a different view but really I would struggle otherwise.

The Sun is pretty lame to even try to dig dirt on the story.

It's not interesting and if it sold them papers, shame on those buyers.

I don't think getting a gun as a footballer is very professional at all.

It's his body and the story shouldn't have been picked up by the press, yet I do feel he should be fined and forced to cover it up when he plays. Young children will think its acceptable and I don't think any comparison can be made between Arsenal'sΒ badge.
