If anyone is wanting to delete the "@" part of the @Mention feature there is a way in doing so, it will just involve you editing your post after you have posted it.

I don't know if anyone is actually interested in doing so, but here is how if you would like to.

The @Mention feature is found on the user sidebar next to their post;

If you add someone into a post using this, all you need to do is click edit after you have posted your comment/reply.

Delete the @ part of the code (only the @, nothing else)

The link will still work fine, but the reply will read better than it does with the @ sign in it.

If this doesn't bother you, then just ignore this topic!

Thanks Cheeky, I am sure some of the community will find this most helpful.

I should be adding to my help series (which can be read in my blog). It will cover the forum and posting in a bit more detail, including making the most of the "View New Content" feature. :)

just to point out that those on mobiles will have to know the username, you don't see an @ mention there.

i wondered how people managed to do it, then i tried.. its a nice feature and a good way to get people chatting :)

As you said you would have to know the name of the user to add them in a post.

You could change to the full site on your mobile instead of the mobile skin, but it depends which you prefer.

I don't think there is a way of making the feature work without knowing the username unfortunately.
