Eating out

Featured Replies

I like taking my family to pubs, you can get some good valued meals there but we also like 'Pizza Hut' (which is pretty a rare treat these days).

Outright I think any Hungry Horse pubs usually have a good atmosphere, offer decent meals and well priced drinks. I don't have a favourite place in Nottingham, however I do at Skegness/Ingoldmells and that would be the 'Cherry Tree'. Sadly, it's reputation is catching on and it now does attract a lot of rowdy families who are most likely visiting from Butlins.

My family also looks KFC, McDonalds and Burger King, along with smaller established places like a nearby takeaway called 'Goody's Chicken'.

Plenty of excellent places out there in Nottingham.

For a cheap meal and good beer, I prefer wetherspoons, for something a little more upmarket there is a very good Thai restaurant near us but it’s fairly pricey. I do like Indian food too so a good curry house is a must. Funnily enough I was saying to Mrs. BigTone today we’ve not seen one Indian restaurant while we’ve been in France.

Got to say I agree mate the food is nice and the beer is so why the hell not can’t bear a pint of John smithsΒ

Sad to say I haven't eaten out for a long time, back when I had a locally-based Mrs we'd go out every week or every other week, now I tend to just have the odd takeaway now and then with the family, or if I go out to eat it'll be with friends at a Spoons or similar. I do genuinely love pub grub but on the whole it's a rarity for me to go out nowadays.
