Here are the groups for Spurs, Wigan, & Swansea

Group K

Spurs

Anji (Sold Willian and Eto to Chelsea) (Russian)

Sheriff (Moldova)

Tromso (Norway)

Spurs will stroll through this group. Anja have sold all their best players. Tromso are only in it cause Besiktas got thrown out for match fixing. Sheriff will be tough away but cannon fodder at home.

Group A

Swansea

Valencia

Kuban (Russian)

St Gallen (Swiss)

Swansea have a good chance of advancing. Valencia should win the group. Kuban are a bit of an unknown quantity. They are the biggest threat to Swansea. St Gallen did beat Spartak Moscow to qualify so they could be a dark horse.

Group D

Wigan

Rubin Kazan (Russian)

Maribor (Slovenian)

Zulte Waregem (Belgian)

Rubin are by far the best team in the group. Wigan shouldn't fear either of the other 2. Zulte will be their biggest threat IMO. Maribor are seasoned competitors so can't be ruled out.

All three of the English team realistically should do well.

Spurs should have a field day, on paper the teams in their group aren't that good as they're hyped to be. It's just a case of will they miss Bale? Though I'm not one of those general football people who rate him. I think he's very overrated, a good player but I think we'll see a different type of class from him now on. Some players excel with teams they can be the star (which is how I see him).

Swansea should be looking at the group and thinking "We can do this".

Good Luck to them. :D

Going to be interesting to see how Wigan Athletic approach this competition. Their main goal will be promotion and they don't have the biggest of squads, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of teams they field. I hope they put their strongest side out, its a once in a lifetime oppurtuniy for a club like them.

Swansea and Spurs I think could go far. Every season we all seem to say Spurs could go on to win it, but they then go and lose to a side that really, they probably should be beating.

Swansea, we all know play brilliant football and they're especially strong on home soil. I don't see any reason why none of the English teams can't get through their groups.

Spurs cruised to a 3-0 win against Tromso. 2 great finishes by Defoe. He's a natural goalscorer.

Swansea went to Valencia and came away with a 3-0 win. De Guzman's free kick has to be seen. Brilliant goal.

Wigan secured a 0-0 draw in Belgium. Good result for them.

My facebook account became flood with comments about the De Guzman goal haha! I'm so behind on things it's unbelievable but I'll eventually get time to catch up with folks, I very really discuss football unless it's Notts related anyway.

Great results for each team respectively :)

Should be a good competition.
