Morning all, a cloudy, mild start here.

Its match night tonight and personally I can’t wait to get back down the lane, no grandkids as it’s too late for them being a school night so I’ve booked a seat near the half way line which is my preferred view point rather than behind the goal where I sit with grandchildren in the family stand.

In other news I see the Spice Girls are making a comeback minus posh spice (Victoria Beckham) are we bothered?

More news some stupid people have posted a rather sick video of a bonfire with a model of the Grenfell tower block burning on the fire with people standing around laughing and joking, how sick can you get?

We didn’t get our @GrannyPie update yesterday, hows she doing @super_ram?

Have a great day everyone.

As far as i know she just needs to get the strength to stand and she'll be allowed home. Not as easy as it sounds though due to her disability.

Today i'm not sure what i'm doing fully. Might go to lidl to pick up a few things thisafternoon before i pick up my girls from school.

Lidl is our supermarket of choice, we couldn't believe how much we saved when we switched from Asda.

Hope the physios are working on @GrannyPie so she can come home.

The physios come for a short time on weekdays, but not at all over the weekend. So to me that isnt enough to get her home.

How come they don't work at weekends that's silly, my daughter in law is an occupational therapist and she has to take it in turns to work weekends with her colleagues.

I really don't know why they don't work at weekends in hospital because it would surely help the patients get better faster.

Even when grannypie was in lings bar specialist hospital 2 years ago there was no physio over the weekends and at one point the physio went on a 2 week break off work and noone was there to fill in so none of the patients had physio for those 2 weeks.

Physio still happens in home care so why not in hospital.

That’s fantastic news glad she is on the mend

Off to a meeting shortly.

Not been doing much and not been bothered to do anything, then again I haven't felt amazingly well.

After the meeting I will be at Meadow Lane for the second time today, hopefully the latter is better than the first part. I just hope Notts can play with confidence and a proper game plan.

I’ve just had a walk around Shipley Country Park home of the former American Adventure Theme Park, after discussing it on the other thread I thought that it had been ages since I’d been so went again, it’s lovely this time of year with the leaves all turning different colours, we had a nice walk then dropped into the visitor centre cafe for a coffee and the most enormous piece of lemon cake, I’m stuffed now.

Did the place look nice? @Fan of Big Tone, we like an adventure so could be an idea for a future day trip.

It depends what you like @cheeky~k8 if you like peace and quiet and the countryside then yes its lovely. There are lots of walks on good paths, lakes, fishing, feeding the ducks, wildlife, birds etc., but there isn't much else, there's a smallish kiddies play park near the visitor centre and a keep fit trim trail but no theme rides or anything like that now of course, there is a visitor centre selling the usual stuff and a cafe but really its just a big country park.

Sounds very good to me as we like quiet and walks in the countryside. My kids like exploring the countryside and as we live in the city it would be a great change of a day out for us all. Just a case of getting there.

Yeah, I said to Chris you need a Rainbow One to Heanor but its a bit of a trek from Heanor to the park. I'm not sure there are any buses that go to the entrance. You'd probably be worn out before you got there.

Are we classing Shipley Country Park as this @Fan of Big Tone? Been there a few times in past few years. Great in the summer. Take the football and cricket set. Let kids play on the play park (near the road entrance) then pick your own field to play in. Visitor centre or for ice creams and great to take a picnic etc...

We didn’t get our @GrannyPie update yesterday, hows she doing @super_ram?

Have a great day everyone.

I did visit @GrannyPie yesterday and she continues to  improve though not as spectacularly as last week.Apologies for no update yesterday @Fan of Big Tone but when I returned home it was straight on with the bonfire and I completely forgot to post.

Tuesday  @GrannyPie update.

I visited again today and when I arrived on her ward the curtains were drawn around her bed, as she was feeling a bit sick.Apparently she'd been out of bed,in the chair, for over an hour but when she was put back in bed she'd been left a bit uncomfortable and then had her dinner.I asked her why she didn't tell the nurses and in typical granny fashion she replied"they were busy  helping others with their dinner"Another factor in her feeling ill was that she had had her favourite pudding, bread and butter, and didn't want to leave any.It wasn't long before she was feeling OK again though. After updating granny with home news I asked her if she'd had any physio. She told me that 2 nurses had attempted to get her standing twice with the aid of a rotunda but she couldn't manage it.She added that a physio team arrived later and tried the same again. This time she managed to get upright but had to sit again quickly. After a little rest she tried standing for a fourth time and actually stood supporting herself with only a little help from the physios.POSITIVE PROGRESS.I would like to be present  when she's at the rotunda so I can see exactly what's happening for myself .The physios have left granny with some more excercises she can do in bed or in the chair..The next stage will be to get granny standing in the rotunda and 'marching' to build up her strength.Another real positive is that I saw her infected foot, when her dressing was being changed, and I can definitely report that the new skin looks really healthy and the infection has almost shrunk away,a massive improvement from last week.

This was my gripe before when granny was in hospital 2 years ago.Daily marching count increase over 3 or 4 days then no physio Friday and a 2 day break over the weekend and 2 steps back after 3 steps forward. The build up of strength can be slow and 3/4 days progress can be lost by missing just one day.

What are you going to do with your Christmas ballboyes hang the poor litttle lads from the tree? And where are you flying to? :joker:
