Notts have to take three points from this game because right now Macclesfield are getting the points they need to survive and remain in league two. Notts have to be confident score first and make sure that every pass is short and to the point and no stray passes any set pieces need to be critical and need a positive out come. The out come needs to be positive and we need the three points.

im nervous, i think notts really need to go for it but be wary about the back. if they play as they did this past weekend, i think they will turn the club over.

Exeter should press Notts much more than Morecambe which will only make the game more open, hopefully it will be an exciting game. If the midfield does its job and Neal Ardley ensures Kane Hemmings isn't just on his own. I do feel the game will be entertaining.

Im not looking forward to the result because every result counts now and notta have bottled it too many times.

I'm not sure what to expect, Neal Ardley is hard to predict and the Notts squad is even harder.

Notts have to win this, I would take a draw but I just don't think its good enough at home.

Posted

A win would be nice, the points are needed but I have this belief that away games where be will the vital points will come from. The pressure to perform well at home seems quite high at the moment.

I think the score will be 1-1.

No idea, I hope Neal Ardley avoids changes and is able to field Jon Stead.

He was dearly missed against Morecambe.

This game can't be as bad as the two against Morecambe and Vale. We also can't be any less woeful infront of goal as we were against them two as well.

We need O'Brien back as he makes the midfield tick. Would start Patching instead of Rose tbh. Rose was poor against Morecambe

We really need a win to survive the drop.

I would hope both Stead and 'Brien are able to return.

I don't think Hemmings can do it all by himself and Alessandra seems wasted on the pitch at the moment. Boldewijn is more useful on the wing for me, however one up top would be annoying to see.

It’s The night before I’m getting a bit nervous I’m looking forward to the game but the result both here and elsewhere is making me nervous.. all we can do is win our game and hope for a favour elsewhere.

I haven't done my homework, so I won't be able to say what I think of the opposition. They are most likely going to try and play a higher tempo than us, it's important we are calm and careful in midfield. I'm hoping for a narrow 1-0 but we shall see.

Well here we are again. ANOTHER must win game. Just as last season there are those who can’t (or will not) see the wood for the trees.

it doesn’t seem to matter what team he puts out we can’t put in a winning performance. Until we stop lofting the ball long in the hope that all of a sudden someone becomes a recognised target man the goals for column will not improve.

Nothing changes in my opinion, after the Lincoln & Mansfield results I was optimistic but since then the realism has returned and with it an acceptance of the inevitable relegation.

And at last minute, another loss. Great 😒

I was out so I didn't see it. Were we that bad?

It's incredible - at times this season, everything seems to have fallen into place to make our escape from the bottom two as easy as possible. And we're still too inept to take the chance presented to us on a silver platter.

Apart from enzio who was appalling the effort was there unfortunately the ability is sadly lacking. Ardleys tactics are at best one dimensional but this is not helped by the players not carrying out instructions on the pitch

Unfortunately you are right, which is even more worrying.

You can potentially fix a lack of effort from one game to the next. However, a lack of quality can't be fixed short-term, won't be fixed this season, and is exactly why we are headed for the conference.

Neal Ardley needs his own players, yet his tactics are quite frustrating and that’s the disappointing thing about yesterday.

At half time I said we needed two strikers, for even sake they went down to 10 men and Notts still sat back. The passing was better, yet Kane Hemmings being isolated was negative. Another noticeable fact is that there was little to no pace upfront.

I repeatedly said that Notts could have done with Virgil Gomis. It’s quite a controversial call but the lad does have skill and pace.

Taking off Craig Mackail-Smith was stupid, he was the only player who looked capible of shooting.

Rob Milsom frustrates me furiously, so wasteful and his passing/decision making is absolutely pointless. People telling me he’s a good defender, yeah he tries but his positional play is a joke.

Defensively, Notts looked okay. Richard Duffy did well for the most part.

He was caught out of position, Sam Stubbs follows the lead too much - he needs to make his own decisions. Ryan Schofield was lost, yet not blameless for the goal. They all simply switched off, yet no doubt Notts was the better side. I guess that’s one small positive, but it bloody well hurt when Exeter City scored.

I don’t think we’ll get an easier chance to get three points like that again this season. It was painful.

We were given a gift and instead of ripping it open with both hands we stared at it for a bit, prodded it, poked it and then just as Exeter were about to leave we chucked it straight to them and they’ve gladly taken it home with them.

We’ve got no clue how to break teams down when they just sit back. If anyone’s done their homework against us they’ll do just that, cross a couple of balls into the box and take the three points.

Forget battle to stay up; I think Yeovil, Macc and Us are having a battle to see who can be relegated first...

Thing is, he's got his own players hasn't he?

Out of the 11 he started on Saturday, 6 were players he brought in;

- Schofield
- Stubbs
- O'Brien
- Doyle
- Rose
- CMS

With another 2 on the bench;

- Gomis
- Barclay

I'm not saying these players were to blame, in fact they were of the better performers if you discount CMS and Gomis, but still...

You could well be right.

@Super_Danny_Allsopp The issue is that the squad has too many under-performers, I wouldn't really the class the loans as his own players either - I am sure they are trying, but I suspect if we had the money he would have signed more free agents instead of relying so heavily on loan options.

He's already admitted prior to making those signings that he has struggled to motivate the players, the ones here before his appointment have let the fan base and club down massively. If I was Neal Ardley, I would really shake things up and look to re-try the 3 CB's, with two quick wing backs. Notts are too defensive at the minute and this is largely down to the large squad that was signed before him.

None of which are really defensive minded which is why he signed Michael Doyle, Jim O'Brien etc.

I thought we didn’t play that bad just unlucky with the goal defence should have been more alert. Unfortunately islets a costly goal that I think may come back and haunt us.. I hope I’m wrong I really do
