Game 13 - The Cardinals (H)

Team: Woking

Date: 05/12/2020

Where: Meadow Lane

What line-up should Neal Ardley opt for? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

Notts are gaining momentum. They only thing they didn't do was score at Dagenham. Eventually there will be a landslide victory and this is it I reckon. 5-0 to the Pies.ย

Ifย Notts continues on the last performances they will break sides down.

I'm not sure we will thrash anyone any time soon, I think it will be much harder to gain that sort of momentum. The odd 3 goals I can see being shipped past a side, I'm not sure Woking are one of those sides.

I can see it being 2-1 to Notts.

We are playing very well at Meadow Lane, Notts should be able to control the game and lead the game comfortably despite my prediction. I just can't see Woking being a push over.

A field where dreams become reality.

I think it will be a comfortable win for Notts if they keep up the creative side.

Dagenham just wasn't our day.

That is as non league as it comes. Abolsute dire game devoid of any quality from either side.

ย

First touches are awful, can't pass to our own players and so many mistakes. Turner started so nervy and calamitous, could've easily given them a goal. Rawlinson not much better.ย

ย

Up front Wotton has the touch of a rapist, Sam even worse. Even Rodrigues had a few bad touches.ย

ย

We're lucky that Woking have been as bad as us.ย

I thought Enzio would inject something into the game, but so far he's killing every move by either not stretching the play or attempting to pull off the impossible. Very poor game from Notts, lacking everything needed to win a game.

When I first saw the team, I was surprised that Chicksen couldnโ€™t get in at LB ahead of our two RBs! They and the rest of the team didnโ€™t start very well and the passing and touch was so bad if youโ€™d have told me theyโ€™d been out drinking heavily the night before I wouldโ€™ve believed you.

Second half we did go more direct and improved slightly but Woking pressed well and had a lot of players behind the ball restricting that space. Enzio will have felt a little hard done by not getting a start but he effectively got us that goal today, great strength and run before squaring it Wootton.

Wootton didn't have hisย best game but he kept working hard for the team. Think thatโ€™ll be him off pens though! 2 in 2 heโ€™s missed and we canโ€™t afford to mess up a gift like a pen especially at a times when we desperately need a goal...

Ok we werenโ€™t the usual fluid team weโ€™ve seen recently but I guess the biggest positive to take from the last couple of games and today is how much more assured our defence is looking now. Weโ€™re solid again, and 3 clean sheets in a row proves it!

@menzinhoย I think Chicksen was a panic signing. The times he has aimlessly punted down the line and lost possession is probably the reason why DKE is the preferred choice now

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel

Yeah maybe, @Piethagoram I think he was our last signing butย heโ€™s played his entire career in L1, and Bolton fans liked and rated him. Heโ€™s two levels lower now; he should be more than solid enough for us.

I like DKE but it's got to be so much easier for a natural left-footer in that position.ย Iโ€™m not writing Chicksenย off just yet, I need to see more of him โ€“ but yeah, he hasnโ€™t exactly had a standout performance so far...

If we're going to challenge, we need to make winning a habit even when we're not on it. We did that and got a third clean sheet in a row. On a personal note, I only listened on the radio yesterday and would prefer the team to put in their most exciting performances when I'm watching :D

I'm encouraged that Enzio has hit form and that JOB has shown an improvement. As for Chicksen, I haven't been impressed so far but I wouldn't write him off yet, he might just need more time to get used to the team and division.

It's good to be in the top three, even if it's close below us. Torquay have only dropped five points all season, which is incredible, but there's no way they can keep that up. We just have to keep on winning. All the same, there are seasons in this league when one team has an amazing season and you can end up getting 90+ points and still missing out. Let's hope this isn't one of them.
