  1. It's a good update, a little saddening because it's the first update which wasn't published on behalf of Jason Turner. Andy Stokes mentioned the PA System on his Twitter account after the Boreham Wood game, but at times it hasn't sounded so bad. Initially, Andy's role was clearly understandable but with time it became increasingly unclear to me, and I struggled to make out what was being conveyed. The voice became too faint and indistinct, leading to difficulty in comprehending what was being said. Perhaps a review of the audio settings could make it more distinct and comprehensible. When chants are used excessively, the situation becomes even more unbearable. I'm glad it's finally being modernised; it should prove to be a great addition to our match day experience.
  2. Now, this is a video you can rewatch over and over again! From a fan perspective, it's great, and I love every minute of @ARLukomski vlogs! This is absolute class and, I am pleased to see him smiling more!
  3. @CliftonMagpie I suggested this, I think. @ARLukomski should compile footage of the whole season into one video. Throw in some of the footage Notts captured, as fans we're not going to get anywhere near that level of footage and release one season long vlog. I do feel we can binge-watch many of these videos put out by the club over and over again; it just makes me feel sad that if the day hadn't gone our way. Much of this wouldn't have seen the light of day. Most likely ending up as padding for video. which focused on our return to the football league. That seems a shame, but I understand.
  4. I recall reading about him when he was at Bath City, I also know him from Yeovil. I would say he fills the requirements that Notts looks for: he's young and likes to get forward. He analyses the game and unleashes calculated assaults on opposing teams, employing traditional tactics with impressive results. He likes to take on players, can drift in and has a very good shooting foot on him. Unfortunately, I am not sure how he did after Yeovil, but I do remember him making his debut against our nearest neighbours.
  5. I am hoping I don't miss this and that I feel well enough to attend. It would be nice to take the lads @super_pie and @callum2569. I'm pleased that the Nottingham City council has rethought their decision, I did feel it was a poor touch on their behalf to reject and not make room for some form of event for us. They'd never dream of doing this to Forest, that for me is the thing which I dislike the most. They clearly felt we would just accept it.
  6. Thank you, everyone for the kind messages! As I wrote a fan on Twitter, it means a lot that people would take time out of their day to wish me a happy birthday. It means a lot to me, despite missing @GrannyPie - I believe and feel she's always with me. It was difficult watching Jake on his first birthday day since mum parted to heaven, but we have so many wonderful memories. I will be thinking later, whilst Coronation Street is on, how much of a pain I was for my parents as I tried to miss the show all together. I'm very thankful for my family, especially @super_ram. Thanks again! Funnily, we had left Super after helping with some stuff around his house. On the way back, he called @cheeky~k8 and he sounded extremely excited. I heard him say "guess who's back on PON". I thought it might be @Cobby as I saw @liampie responded to his comment in our Facebook group. I never thought it would be you, but I'll take it as a gift. I really am glad to see you back, even if you had just reached out to my dad that would've been all I could ask. ❤
  7. This will be mostly featuring youth team players and trialists, I suspect. I think that their match-up against Skegness is quite promising. I've been tempted to go see them play. A few years ago, I was walking past taking pictures, and they kindly offered me in to take more. I snapped a few, but with me being with my family and on our seaside holiday I cut it short. This club is exceptionally kind.
  8. I'm watching it now. I always like when Luke Williams speaks thoughtfully and carefully. It's also good that Notts has had this spotlight. In addition to his comments about connecting to the fanbase. We've always stood by Notts County even when it looked dark, that's what we do. I am so pleased that we are back in the Football League, I think it should be onwards and upwards from here. I know people don't like that as it's a 'Trewish' reference, but it is befitting.
  9. I saw a video of Macca holding him up whilst out somewhere at night, it didn't look very sensible. I mean it's his free time and after this season I don't blame any of the players to be steamed but to share videos of it isn't good. At least in our benefit, it should put off some of the interest in Ruben, who has his Instagram was full of him talking drunk. It became to the point where even my son was disappointed. @super_pie I can see the funny side of it, but I also feel that someone needs to get him to tone it back.
  10. I can't tell if the upper left side is @Turkey_Twizzler. It's a nice bit for our fans, guranteed to get purchases of the Nottingham Post. I still have when my children made the spread for the final game of the season against Doncaster Rovers, they were dressed up for it. Great pictures!
  11. I think we are in a good chance to be up in the promotion places next season, if our squad can continue to play in the style of how we performed in the National League. That style is universal and would adapt well in League Two. It would also be quite effective with the right players in League One, only concern is the defending. We need to be better by the point we do gain promotion from League Two. It might take some time, we don't know. Or, it could be back-to-back but for now I think realistically we need to prepare for life in League Two. @Fan of Big Tone: Have you had a chance to read this?
  12. I don't want to bash Ross Fitzsimons, I am mindful about that, but he has come across as rude to me personally in the past. I like his dad's mind, he seems a switched on person and appreciates the fans. I also lost respect for him for the incidents that @liampie mentioned. Celebrating in such a manner against the former club you heavily played a part in their relegation out of the Football League is just disrespectful. I don't care if he felt justified due to the hassle he's had of others, most people tended to wish him well, and he's clueless when it comes to that. Both of our goals against Chesterfield in the playoff final and in our home game came as a cost of his mistakes. He's not a professional goalkeeper, not in his ability or attitude. I feel sorry for Scunthorpe fans because they'll soon realise how poor he is.
  13. I also had goosebumps watching the video: it's very well-produced, and it tugs on your emotions. Just everything about it reminds me how lucky I feel to be a Notts County fan. @liampie: You mean this?
  14. @KB1862 I bet the note and the fact Notts returned to the Football League, you had happy tears in your eyes and so you should!
  15. Thank you, @nightOWL. It was an epic experience for our fanbase. Many of our younger supporters have never seen Notts play at Wembley. I am fortunate enough to have been quite a few times in the 90s with my grandfather. Best wishes to you and, Sheffield Wednesday.
  16. It makes you appreciate truly how special this season has been; it seems to have gone by so fast. The build up to Wembley seemed to go at a quick pace, until the game started and once it ended every sped right up. I could watch videos like this, more than most, I think. I mean re-watch over and, over again. There's just something about the way it recaps a season.
  17. Good article, promotion does help to move forward. I hope that next season, if we aren't doing as well as most fans would like, that people reflect on this and where we have come from in such a short amount of time. Not that I think we will, but there's always the chance of something unknowingly occurring to change our fortunes. I know I have spoken about the chance of us being in the running for back to back promotions. I would be happy with a mid-table finish. Mostly for the reason that it's sometimes hard for teams to adopt back to the Football League. We may play silky and stylish football, which looks like Championship quality at its best, but there's no guarantee of winning. I am very optimistic, but at the same time I am mindful and cautious not to overdo my expectations.
  18. It's lovely. I wish @GrannyPie could've seen this as it's the type of thing that would send her into a positivity meltdown. Literally, it's the type of thing which I and @super_ram would be reminded about for days. This isn;t a bad thing, it's just something I would've observed happening. It's such a lovely thing. How could you not scoop them up and give out big hugs. Thanks for sharing mate!
  19. I absolutely adored witnessing the jubilant festivities surrounding the National League trophy. One snapshot in particular stood out to me, like a scene from a child's dream of winning the celebrated FA Cup. It showed Kyle Cameron delicately embracing the shiny trophy, as though he had spent the entire night snuggled up with it. Simply heart-warming! A quick search, I couldn't locate that image, but I did come across this which I thought was funny. It had my girls in stitches when they watched, I am told.
  20. Ah, Vicky McClure was on site filming the TV series when she was watching Notts? I wonder if they will sneak a scene in where she's looking at her laptop, with a quiet football match being heard in the background.
  21. I truly regret not having the opportunity to print out and deliver this comment to certain Notts fans present at Wembley. Frankly, I was deeply disappointed by a multitude of nonsensical remarks that were voiced. Yes, it's football, but these clueless people really need to take things into perspective. I thought Notts would've given Chesterfield a better start, but whining about it and shouting nonsense just adds to the tension. From almost not having a club, to four years later celebrating being promoted at Wembley to the Football League. With the squad that we have, it's hard not to get optimistic about the club's future.
  22. Both speak so well, I think the emotions bring it home, and it's nice that many of the players had their chance to give their own interviews. I know it's always going to be the case when a team is promoted, yet Wrexham only had a handful of players talk on camera. Somehow, BT Sports, the Wembley host and the Notts media team managed to cover pretty much everyone who played a part in the massive victory. Archie Mair, what a penalty saver! I am also pleased for Cedwyn Scott who put his Wrexham miss behind him.
  23. I apologise, I know I sent a personal message to you @Piethagoram, but I thought I had replied to this (other than PON News - I mean). It's well deserved. The reason I voted for my dad was because of all his help with getting PON back. It was a difficult decision, as both @DangerousSausage and yourself were in my mind when I cast my vote. You have always tried to get conversations going and that is hugely helpful. I have always tried to encourage users to join in with conversations and much of what you post is natural just to dive into. During my absence, I can't thank you enough for all that you did. I really hold unreserved praise towards you and DS, as I think you two made sure that the site didn't die. I openly acknowledge that many communities would've suffered greatly. Thank you and, well done on being named as the Pride of Nottingham Member of the Year!
  24. Mark Stallard oozes Notts County, I think Colin Slater will be looking down at him and thinking that Stall has come into his own on the microphone. After having Dean Yates, who I still swear sounds similar to Mark Stallard, we have had nothing but amazing commentary from him.
  25. @Fan of Big Tone up front, @super_ram at the back. All this re-signings such as @Turkey_Twizzler, @Canadian and the PON forum XI is starting to take shape. I swear I am missing someone, anywho. Keep laughing!
