  1. I don't think VAR is an issue, it's more about how it's implement and used. This gave me a good chuckle for the right reason, especially the Forest chairman part. Wouldn't it be nice to think Little Al messed them up, ah? Apologise for only just reading this, I must keep a better eye on things.
  2. I believe it would be expected of care homes to be hit hard, they're a very vulnerable place in our society. They're an area where the most support is needed, yet during this pandemic I would've imagined that outside help from doctors was few and far between. I'm also not sure care homes wouldn't follow the guidelines, as I have mentioned they're much stricter and generally prepared for outbreaks of viruses (such as sick bugs).
  3. With some major cities already having headed back into lockdown measures, it shows how serious this pandemic is because it won't be beaten unless everyone plays their parts. I think re-opening pubs is a massive mistake, people from Leicester are already finding their way into Nottingham pubs, I can't help but feel it's incredibly selfish.
  4. Personally, I would hope schools re-open once we know work places can return properly without safety measures. Young children won't want to wear a mask all day long. They won't understand that they can't go near their friends, however, it does seem like we are slowly heading in the right direction. Once crowds can return to things like football matches and, other supporting events. Work places are normal, buses are without a lot of the safety measures - I would deem school a no go until it improves to this standard.
  5. @DangerousSausage No doubt that the schools must open at some point, yet I don't think we're quite at that stage now. Commonly I am seeing people who want their kids to return due to their working situation or, simply because they're tired of having them around. My children are learning every day, we are assigning them our own stuff and I don't worry about any of them falling behind others. Ellie for example, it took us almost 2 years to get her a school placement and she was well behind others when she started. Now she's flying ahead of her year, but I do agree schools must return when it's safe to do. My biggest argument is if football and, other sports must be done behind closed doors. Schools are not safe, we don't know if children can carry the virus without knowing and further spread it. There's got to be a common sense approach, if any parents are worried about their children falling behind - I genuinely feel they need to do more. I bet @hissingdwarf is teaching his children, I wonder how he feels about them returning to school.
  6. How does parents feel about those calling for schools to return to being open? I wouldn't allow Jake, Ellie or Ava to return until I know its back to normal, teachers risk re-spreading it and, all it takes is one time visiting my parents unknowingly for them to catch the Coronavirus. We've done our part already by keeping clear and, myself and @cheeky~k8 are perfectly fine with home schooling until it's beaten.
  7. There's a standard guideline all care homes have to follow, not just privately owned. They're much stricter in general with sick bugs and other things, forcing measures such as not allowing visitors to see family members in person. It's the council ran care homes which tend to be softer or ignore the guidelines due largely to inexperienced staff. I would imagine that most went into lockdown themselves before the UK did. Issue is carers, nurses, cleaners etc - who go home are more likely to spread it without knowing. If any permitted visits during the lockdown, then that would be quite severe and dangerous as commonly people do not use the hand soap to clean their hands or even read notices. It's a difficult situation for everyone.

  10. I do think China are more used to these types of situations, they're very disciplined when it comes to it. There's some interesting media pieces that 60 minutes Australia have done. Those backstreet meat markets make me shiver with how poor the hygiene is over there. without it being placed in this scenario. People putting all sorts of animals in cages to slaughter and consume is just very disgusting. China still needs to answer to the World Health Organisation though.
  11. @DangerousSausage It's probably false, but I do recall reading about the cover up in a national paper online. There's been a lot of nations digging mass graves which is scary to think about, as it's almost like what you can see in The Crazies film. This is one report I have just found about China covering things up - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8211073/Is-China-covering-death-toll-tens-thousands-Video-shows-police-beating-fleeing-residents.html They didn't react well, they hid it as a 'flu' like bug at first. If it started before November, who knows but I honestly believe I had it in December myself. China and North Korea are a lot a like, both are trying their hardest to cover up the truth. North Korea for example have claimed to be free of the pandemic. It's all crazy, Russia is lying too.
  12. I really do wonder why we haven't shut down our transport systems, planes should been halted them moment the UK went into soft lockdown. Only way this will be cleared up faster and, safer is if the UK goes into full lockdown. The UK could end up as being as bad as China at this right, they've allegedly lost over 1 million people to this pandemic.
  13. Towards the end of May. A lot of the caravan sites have closed, we are thinking it's likely to expand to beyond June. I'm sure the lady that we hire the caravan from will put the payments we've made already towards the next time we plan to go.
  14. Does anyone genuinely believe that the pandemic will slow down any time soon? I doubt I'll be celebrating a normal birthday in May.
  15. China could have been a lot more upfront and honest about it, I still think the UK should be under a more demanding lockdown personally.
  16. I actually don't think we need to turn this topic into something political, it's about the virus and, sharing information. I'm not trying to discourage people from posting, having their day, I just want to remind people that debating politics or even mentioning it can lead down a path we as a community need not go down.
  17. Those Frankfurters/Hot dogs look the bomb. @super_pie look at these. I don't eat at football grounds if I can help it, I especially do not at Meadow Lane. I was put off when a server tried giving Jake a hot dog that they had dropped on the floor. We always eat before approaching the ground now. This food does look interesting, minus the source and funny cowpat looking thing.
  18. It’s a bit of a depressing time right now with the Coronavirus pandemic restricting day-to-day in so many ways, yet it’s essential that we protect each other and, stay connected in the digital world. The National League season seems to have gone by quite fast, for Notts there were some dips and natural moments where it seemed like stability would be the main thing to take from it; however, the club managed to persist moving forward. Before the suspension, I felt like the magpies’ form at home had become unstoppable. I have mentioned at various times on social media; just how much I have enjoyed the season – with all due respect, we are a Non-League club for a reason. But, Neal Ardley has created something that on paper seems to be unique, and from the evidence, I have seen it’s more promising long term – as we have a youngish squad that has experience within those core areas that make a huge difference. I thought the National League would be somewhat dull, yet in hindsight, it’s been anything but that. Notts County fans have been incredible on the road, others like Barrow, Stockport County and Wrexham might mock us on social media – however, I suspect that they wished their teams could have adapted better to this challenge within their first season of Non-League football. After such a disappointing relegation from League Two, I admire the togetherness and way in which we have bounced back. Under the new ownership of the Reedtz brothers, Christoffer and Alexander the club has been very forward-thinking, and Notts County doesn’t feel like the biggest joke within football. Some fans who are reading my blog may take offence to that, and it’s not my point. The circus around Notts County has always been tinted due to issues presented with previous owners; I won’t mention names because we all know the story – if you’re an outside fan reading this (save yourself time and don’t bother looking up the turmoil). It’s been very well documented and, for any new football owners looking to buy a club researching the events might show you how not to run a football club. Unity! That’s a difference for starters. The sensible approach from our current custodians has brought fans together with the hope that they can and will move the club forward. I don’t miss the headlines or stories coming out. The uncertainty of if staff are going to be paid or, even if we will have a club. It’s been a massive underlining issue for Notts County, with debts piling and owners either pointing the finger or burying their heads in the sand. With Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz it’s not like that, they must have the patience of a saint or quite possible more understanding that a club has to look at the long term gains – rather than the shorter-term growth. I didn’t feel like this season would reset the club, fighting for promotion has been enjoyable, and whatever happens now with how things are, I would be confident of this squad and manager to move us forward further. I think every fan of football can appreciate how important that feeling can be, so I do hope whatever outcome occurs – as a much as we care about our clubs, deep down we can understand that life moves on. Until football resumes, I will try to enjoy the break and avoid the social distancing online as this tends to be what usually happens (with the best of interest). If you know me, please be sure to say hello and let me know your thoughts. Lastly, thank you for the wonderful supporting during the 2019/2020 season. All the banter laughs, jokes and conversations – it’s been incredible. If you're able, would you please consider contributing to the PON donation drive?
  19. I went to the Arsenal friendly, I attended about 7-9 games this season with my grandfather. I remember a rainy Tuesday night match, when my Grandfather told me the title would be won by Notts. The squad was quite small from my memories. I also believe we played players out of position, although some fans have recently clarified that it wasn't solely due to injuries. More the fact Notts needed a good target man and someone who could run at people. I believe Matt Redmile played out of position a lot.
  20. Notts County claimed a 4-0 win over Eastleigh at Meadow Lane in the National League on Saturday afternoon. With the non-league competition giving teams the green light to play despite the coronavirus pandemic, five 3pm kickoffs went ahead in the division on Saturday. A total of 4,942 were in attendance at Meadow Lane as Kyle Wootton put Neal Ardley's men ahead in the 15th minute from a Kristian Dennis cross. The provider then turned scorer in the second half with a header of his own. Wootton added his second with a cool effort and Eastleigh goalkeeper Max Stryjek denied Cal Roberts from an acute angle soon after. But the Notts man would soon beat the Eastleigh goalkeeper with a low finish and the visitors' goal faced more pressure before the final whistle. 21. It's not going that well for the QMC who have been hit with the norovirus. https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/nottingham-news/message-queens-medical-centre-following-3931665 Something different, but it goes to show how these things can spread and become an issue. People are advised to avoid going to the QMC.
  22. @DonnyNotts Neal Ardley does deserve some form of credit, yet the win came from the red card. There was limited chances before, the incident gave Notts a surge and we made the most of them being a man down. Of course, Ardley did well for mixing the squad up. I fully expected him to stick with what he believes to be the strongest squad, yet he didn't. I also feel he wanted Notts to sit on the first half without conceding, so that some of our big hitters could impact the game which did happen. Yet it was only a small amount, as I say the biggest change was Barrow being foolish to get a man sent off. It would have been a different game completely had that not happen, so I don't think all this credit giving to Ardley is right. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy because he's had a silly amount of negative attention thrown his way but this win doesn't make up for that. It's a good win, decent second half team performance but I do feel whatever squad we put out, Notts should be pushing to win regardless.
  23. Credit to Barrow first and foremost, they did incredibly well to make it very difficult especially in the first half. I think some of the changes in the second half made some difference, but I think it could have been a vastly different story if we changed some things. If the penalty that Rooney missed had gone in, I'm not sure Notts would have found a way back into the game. Likewise, the sending off ended up being a massive decision which change the game more than Neal Ardley's tactics did. I'm not sure why some are going on about the lineup having won the match, the fact we had more space and Barrow ended up tiring seemed to make the difference. As did the loss of a key player upfront which ultimately would have changed their tactics. I mean, I take nothing away from the victory - it's a good win on the road. I'm buzzing that we are looking good and, in contention for finishing quite high again. 3rd is very possible and, quite likely the highest the club could finish realistically. It would take a miracle for us to win the league, this isn't in my mind - I'll take each game as they come. I tweeted this after the first goal, due to Charlie Slater and Leigh Curtis banging on about how Neal Ardley changed the game with his lineup and tactical changes. Before the sending off, Barrow sounded quite happy to defend all day long. This seems to have rubbed off onto our fan base and, has gone to some people's heads in my mind. All six changes are a result of the fixture backlog, it's more a case of resting players ahead of the weekend. A brave decision, but did it win Notts the game? No. Like I say, Barrow had their chances and should have led comfortably before the second half had even kicked off. So, I think there's a level of fortune and luck involved. It's great Tom Crawford stepped up, a player some keep writing off and it goes to show that if he's playing well - goals will come. The team takes credit for the win, with small falling towards Ardley and of course the support.
  24. There's always some types that will look for excuses but, I doubt it will be many. Those considering going on holiday, where the Coronavirus hasn't been reported might be playing a riskier game than staying out and, sitting this out.
