  1. Itโ€™s why most managers shouldnโ€™t go back to their former clubs. Itโ€™s a difficult task with Blackpool, but they should be doing much better. They have some decent players and are more than equipped to be at the other end of the table. Iโ€™m not so sure about automatics, but certainly near the playoffs. This has been coming since the end of last season.
  2. Well done to Notts for such a heroic comeback! Fleetwood definitely had us worried with those early goals, but the teamโ€™s resilience really shone through. Jattaโ€™s goal brought life back into the game, and the tension just kept building. The real moment of magic was Jonesโ€™ penalty, absolute nerve of steel. Loved how @ARLukomski captured the essence and drama of the game in the vlog. It felt like I was reliving every pivotal moment.
  3. Welcome to Notts County Lucas Ness! We seem to have struck gold with this signing. Nessโ€™s proven capabilities in League One and his distinguished stint with Charlton Athletic make him a strong addition to our squad. The fact that he can be pivotal in several defensive roles offers great flexibility and depth to our teamโ€™s backline. I also commend the strategic thinking of allowing Ness the time he needs to return to full fitness. Ensuring that he is ready and raring to go will help him make an immediate impact on the pitch. Exciting times ahead for Notts, our defence is shapes very up nicely!
  4. David McGoldrick is a seasoned footballer. Even at 36, he stays fit and competes well. Though he doesnโ€™t always get the game time he wants, he stays positive and ready for his chance. Heโ€™s taken on a mentor role, showing his versatility. He balances his own goals with helping younger players in the team. McGoldrick offers advice to those who ask, sharing his experience with Notts Countyโ€™s younger players. His ability to analyse opponents and adapt is a strength for the team this season. His enthusiasm shows heโ€™s not done yet, and fans can expect more from him on the pitch.
  5. Looking at our recent form, itโ€™s clear that while we have the ability to score, our defence needs tightening. The team has shown a fighting spirit, especially in the comeback against Fleetwood Town. If we can bring that same energy against Grimsby Town, we have a solid chance. Artellโ€™s side has momentum after their EFL Cup win, so they'll be tough opponents. I agree with comments about starting McGoldrick; his presence could be pivotal. Meadow Lane will be buzzing, and I hope the atmosphere propels our lads to our first win. Even a strong draw with a solid performance would set a positive tone for the upcoming fixtures.
  6. Jeff Astle will always be remembered for his incredible football talent and his dedication to Notts and West Brom. His goal-scoring ability was second to none, and his versatility on the pitch made him a key player for any team. The story of his winning goal in the 1966 League Cup Final is something every fan should know. Itโ€™s heartbreaking to think about the toll football took on his health, but his legacy as a player remains truly inspiring.
  7. I was really impressed with how the team controlled the game, especially in the second half. Stuart Maynardโ€™s tactical changes seemed to be spot on, and the defensive unit was rock solid. Conor Grantโ€™s debut was particularly noteworthy given he hadnโ€™t had time to train with the squad. His impact on the midfield was immense. We might have been a bit light upfront, but itโ€™s only the first game of the season. A lot to be optimistic about!
  8. They are doing exactly what the F.A. said about England and the Euros. There are some very good fake shirts that look exactly the same. You wouldnโ€™t know without scanning the barcode. The way shirts circulate these days, they could end up in the hands of someone who doesnโ€™t know. Itโ€™s silly. If people canโ€™t afford the real thing, why punish the buyer? Sheffield Wednesday should go after the manufacturer and seller only.
  9. Grantโ€™s ability to operate in different roles in midfield should give us some much-needed versatility. He seems to be a very capable and good player. Iโ€™m particularly excited to see how he settles in and starts influencing games, especially with that creative spark he mentions. Hereโ€™s hoping for a successful season with Conor playing a big part!
  10. Notts County have shown real intent with our signings this season, and I believe this match against Tranmere will be a great test of where we stand. Jattaโ€™s pre-season form has been brilliant, and if he can continue that, we might just have the edge in attack. Prenton Park is never an easy place to go, but if we maintain our focus and play the fast, attacking football weโ€™re known for, thereโ€™s no reason we canโ€™t come away with a win. Itโ€™ll be interesting to see how our new signings fit into the system and if we can hit the ground running.
  11. It seems the pre-season has made some fans less optimistic, but we did well against Tranmere last season and our squad hasnโ€™t changed all that much. I donโ€™t think losing Macaulay Langstaff should put a dampener on things. Once the season gets underway, hopefully that and the Maynard out brigade will be silenced. I think Notts will win against Tranmere 2-0.
  12. I am pleased for Jim Oโ€™Brien. I always felt he would make a great coach, and now heโ€™s working with Sheffield Unitedโ€™s youth setup as their head coach. Itโ€™s a big opportunity for him.
  13. Itโ€™s wonderful to see Notts being run so well. I do wish the club could retain some of the staff that make a difference. There have been departures which affect the community, but the brothers canโ€™t help with that. Football tends to be a natural step forward, and the long-term staff that are here do help to make things efficient. I am pleased with the owners; I couldnโ€™t ask for more from them.
  14. I can take or leave them both. I do think they might grow on me over the course of the season. I agree, the purple kit is a lot nicer. Itโ€™s similar to the home shirt in some ways, and the higher stripes look much better. I wish the home shirt had stripes that went up a bit further.
  15. Barrow 2-2 Crewe Alexandra Gillingham 1-0 Carlisle United (Joker) Harrogate Town 0-1 Bromley Salford City 2-2 Port Vale Altrincham 1-3 Woking Boston United 2-1 Rochdale Halifax Town 1-0 Barnet Southend United 1-1 York City
  16. I believe Notts will recruit another forward. I have no objections to Cedwyn Scott or Junior Morias, but it seems Scott is preferred to play in a supporting striker role. Morias has appeared decent, but we havenโ€™t seen him given a consistent run to fully comprehend his contribution. The club will probably take their time to find the appropriate successor for Macaulay Langstaff, who, in my opinion, is more likely to be assigned the number 9 shirt. Alternatively, the shirt might go to Alassana Jatta, but I personally think he will be given a different number. I understand your point, but considering our lack of experienced strikers at this level, I believe the club will seek a long-term replacement. Morias should receive more playing time, but I think Jatta is the likely candidate from the current squad to play more. With Scott being favoured in a different role, it indicates that we need a bit more depth.
  17. I appreciate that our owners aren't rushing to hire a manager, even during the season, and they are not afraid to hire someone who is already at a club. While an unemployed manager doesn't mean failure or being unwanted, it's refreshing to be the club that is forward-thinking enough to give someone a chance to showcase their ability. It's not just down to Stuart Maynard but also his assistants, as well as ourselves as fans.
  18. Certainly, Simon Weaver has gained a lot of respect for his long tenure at Harrogate Town. It would be great if this stops the constant rumours about Luke Williams moving to another club, but even if he were to sign a lengthy 10-year contract, keeping him here until 2036 on paper, there would still be Notts fans who worry or doubt his commitment to our club, fearing he might leave. Until he proves himself in this league, particularly during our current rough patch, I don't think he'll be leaving anytime soon.
  19. It's a good opportunity to secure another win at home, especially with the cold weather arriving and the Christmas period being one of the toughest times in a season. Notts will have to take full advantage of games like this. Macaulay Langstaff could have a great game against their defence if we can perform well enough. After seeing their highlights on the football league show, they leave so many opportunities to be taken. Notts must be at their finest!
  20. I'm feeling quite optimistic ahead of our match against The Wombles. Despite their decent squad, I believe we have the talent and determination to take them down. Our midfield trio of Crowley, Bostock, and McGoldrick looks particularly strong, and I think they'll be able to control the pace of the game and create plenty of opportunities for our attackers. With the likes of Langstaff and possibly Austin up front, we've got more than enough firepower to trouble any defense. Of course, The Wombles won't be pushovers, and we'll need to be at our best defensively if we want to come away with three points. Their striker, Tilley, is a real handful, and we'll need to keep him quiet if we want to shut down their attack. But overall, I think we've got the tools to get the job done. A win would be massive for our playoff push, and I'm confident that we can deliver.
  21. Luke Williams comments on Notts County's game plan against Wimbledon have filled me with confidence. His emphasis on playing to our strengths and taking the game to the opposition is spot on. If we can execute his plans effectively, I believe we'll come away with a positive result. Bring on the Dons.
  22. Great moments in the history of Notts County include the potential accomplishments of having a striker like Tommy Lawton and a goalkeeper like Roy Carroll in our present squad.
  23. Notts County is our beloved club, and though we've had our fair share of challenges, it holds a special place in our hearts. While there are several other teams out there, not many can boast the rich history and heritage that Notts possesses within the English Football League (EFL). It's a privilege to stand alongside other esteemed clubs with such a storied past. Here's hoping that, with optimism and perseverance, we can make our way back to the Championship in the future. Fingers crossed for success!
  24. I'm deeply impressed by Williams's ability to articulate his thoughts so clearly, especially the acknowledgment that league position means nothing on match day. That in itself shows his sportsmanship and understanding of the game. It'll be thrilling to observe how Notts match up against a versatile team like Colchester United.
  25. We mustn't assume anything as we approach our upcoming matches. There is a possibility that we may encounter difficulties, and Colchester United could very well be one of those challenges. So far, Notts has displayed commendable game management, but I am fully aware that it won't be a straightforward task.
