  1. Some fans won’t know just how lucky we are right now. Notts used to be a team that struggled and had little hope. Parts of the ground needed refurbishing, and despite some awful events, the previous owners have done some nice things to the ground. This makes me thankful to have the Reedtz. They have gone above and beyond. Notts doesn’t seem to be a project but a club always wanting to be better. I hope they see the importance of retaining the family club aspect, especially with the increase in match prices. I applaud them for all the wonderful things they have done. Those who question their ambition only want short-term gains and don’t think about how bad the club could be if things weren’t thought out or wisely planned.
  2. I am happy provided we have a real go at the league. We might not finish in the playoffs, and that is fine with me. I don’t lack ambition; I just feel that if we finish above our previous league position, it shows the club is moving in the right direction. There is too much uncertainty of having one good season, then one where you underperform. You have to balance expectations, which can be hard when your heart rules your mind.
  3. Oh well, you can’t win every game. I think the fact that Notts did throw the game away completely counts for something. Losing on penalties isn’t the worst way to go out of the League Cup. Resilience was shown to get back into the game after we put ourselves on the wrong foot by allowing Shrewsbury back into the game at 2-2.
  4. Hello, @Countylad Its nice to be welcoming you to PoN. I hope to see you join in and become part of this community.
  5. I hope the signings help Notts as they push to climb up the women’s leagues. The last signing, having played in America, must have something special, as the standard there is very high.
  6. What a promising debut by Jacob Bedeau! His solid performance in ensuring a clean sheet in a tough away game is exactly what Notts County needed. His versatility was evident when he shifted positions effortlessly, maintaining the team's defensive strength. Bedeau's post-match reflections underscore his understanding of the club's defensive issues from last season and his commitment to turn things around. His emphasis on both patient build-up play and necessary clearances shows a balanced approach to the game. If this first match is any indicator, Bedeau could be a vital part of our defence and contribute significantly to a successful season. Well done, Jacob
  7. Ah, Jeff Astle, what a remarkable chap he was. His days with Notts County and West Brom are etched in the annals of football history. His knack for scoring goals, his adaptability, and sheer determination on the field made him a beloved figure among fans. Who could forget his winning goal in the 1966 League Cup Final? Such moments are truly unforgettable. It’s a sorrowful tale that his life was cut short by Alzheimer’s Disease, a stark reminder of the perils athletes face. The Jeff Astle Foundation carries on his legacy, raising awareness about head injuries in football and offering support to affected players and their families. His memory lives on.
  8. I imagine that the recent departures might have upset some fans who were eager to see those players on the field in Notts colours. Regardless of who’s here or not, it will be wonderful to see Meadow Lane packed with our supporters. Let’s remain optimistic about the club having a successful season.
  9. I wish Lucien Mahovo all the best with his transfer to Norwich City.
  10. Hopefully, he departs with his head held high, having made significant contributions over the seasons. I wish him the very best. It’s tough to see a player who has been with the club for such a long time leave, but the timing seems right.
  11. He faced pressure due to his family’s history in the sport and he was merely a youngster during his time here. He performed decently for Notts, and it’s pleasing to see him progressing in his career.
  12. It's a squandering of funds and would give the cleaning crew a task. Beer is dreadful if not tidied up. It becomes overly sticky and leaves dirty marks.
  13. Welcome to PON, @Bertinez. I hope you stick around with us and get involved.
  14. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, it's good to have you @BiggestPieInGlasgow.
  15. Hello, @Up the Maggies. You haven't made a poor choice by joining us, I hope you enjoy PON and continue to see it thrive. Welcome!
  16. Coaches, at the end of the day, are just that, coaches. Most of them work quietly in the background. Notts has a strong team, and I’m confident that each member plays a crucial role. I view goalkeepers in the same light. While all of them are appreciated, some may go unnoticed and unthanked.
  17. Willie Carlin was a name often mentioned in our household. Tales of his incredible performances and how he would dominate games despite his shorter height. He seemed to possess a special kind of magic on the field, a quality that made him stand out. His passing is a significant loss for fans of that golden era of football. It's heartening to see so many people come together to honour his memory. May he rest in peace and his legacy endure forever.
  18. It’s truly heartbreaking for the team and the staff. They’ve put in an immense amount of effort, and it seems unjust that they are the ones who have to bear the brunt of this situation. It’s my sincere hope that they’ll discover a method to ensure the survival of the club. Despite the current circumstances, their dedication and hard work deserve to be rewarded, not punished. The situation is indeed challenging, but with determination and resilience, I believe they can overcome it as a phoenix club.
  19. Securing Jaden Warner is the sort of development that stirs enthusiasm for the remainder of the season. Nurturing budding talents has always been a hallmark of Notts County, and Warner embodies this principle beautifully. His athletic ability and tactical acumen are the exact attributes required to bolster our defensive line. Richard Montague and the scouting team deserve a hearty commendation for successfully finalising this deal.
  20. The signing of Jaden Warner is the type of news that gets you pumped for the rest of the season. Notts County has always been about nurturing young prospects, and Warner fits that philosophy to a T. His athleticism and tactical awareness are exactly what we need to tighten up at the back. Huge credit to Richard Montague and the recruiting team for getting this over the line.
  21. This is a clear case of greed. The ex-footballer must have thought that he could get away with stealing from the museum and sell the artifacts on the black market.
  22. He seems good and talks with a mindset like Luke Williams. I’m really pleased to welcome Stuart Maynard to Meadow Lane. Here’s hoping he starts off well.
  23. The appointment was strange from the start, it looked like a desperate move. Forest Green are inviting instability with their actions this season. The owner should let someone else manage the club because he’s not handling it well.
  24. I’m really pleased to know that the board has appointed a new head coach. He’s been leading his previous club for many seasons and managed to get them promoted with a very limited budget. I admire that about Stuart Maynard and I’m confident that he can help our team progress.
  25. I wasn’t aware he had transitioned into coaching. Working in an academy requires a lot of dedication and a passion for shaping talent. His message suggests he’s well-suited for this. I wish him all the best.
