  1. It’s an interesting point; I think we all do from time to time. I would rather support and enjoy watching Notts than allow what happens to cause me to be too critical. At times this will happen, but I think I am able to reset. I know there are people who have a disliking for Sam Slocombe, and this season it seems to be Connell Rawlinson and Kyle Cameron. To be at the point where you call for them to leave or complain after one mistake, not taking into consideration all the good they do, then I would hate to be those types of people. They are far too unreasonable and critical of things.
  2. Luke Williams does a good job balancing who starts. I think the call to play Sam Austin at Doncaster was a good one. It’s useful because some players don’t want to be squad players and try to force themselves into the starting 11 or even out of the club. So far, we have signed players who are all fully committed to Williams and Notts County. It’s really a superb feeling, knowing that this squad will push themselves that extra bit that gets results.
  3. Anything is possible within reason; there’s no reason why Notts couldn’t be playing at a much higher level, but my concern is that the Premier League brings a lot of debt and price increases. We are a family club, and I fear this will change if the Premier League were to beckon. I don’t want Notts to jump too far ahead of themselves. I wish to see them in the Championship in the near future, which is where I would be happiest. Until then, we are in League Two, and I am enjoying our time.
  4. It was end-to-end at the start, but Notts had the best of chances. Tranmere tried to huff and puff, but they didn’t get anywhere. Cedwyn’s injury turned the game on its head. It gave Tranmere the surge to believe they could get something; it shows the real quality that our 11 has and how defiant we are in protecting leads when going down to 10 men. It’s much easier to hold leads than to come back from disadvantages when teams have goals and you have fewer players on the pitch. Excellent win, long may it continue.
  5. The painting is very good; the detail is exceptional and it’s certainly different.
  6. Those last moments were a test for Notts' spirit! Buckling down despite being a man less, and managing to navigate through a tricky finish, shows great resilience. I particularly admired how players stepped up and put in extra effort to cover the spaces left. The team cohesion was highly evident, no one let their heads drop. These are the performances that give fans joy and pride for various reasons, not just for the win but for the show of extraordinary character.
  7. The connection between the fans and the team was electric at Meadow Lane. The support from the crowd truly lifted the players and gave them the extra push they needed. And it's amazing to see the impact of Luke Williams' coaching on Rawlinson's growth as a player. His philosophy and the one-on-one work with Ryan Harley seem to be paying off. Notts County is definitely on the right track for a successful season.
  8. The remarks made by Luke Williams towards the support we gathered in the away section carry significant weight in terms of the club's current standing. Nurturing this connection is essential, as having a substantial number of fans firmly supporting the club elevates matters to a different level.
  9. We were truly blessed with an exceptional team during that era. It wasn't just about the figures on their backs, but the sheer commitment and dedication they poured into playing for the club. Anyone who had the privilege of witnessing this squad in action can undoubtedly consider themselves fortunate. The level of heart and passion they displayed on the pitch, playing for the clubs pride rather than a badge, is something that often feels rare in today's game. It's a chapter of football history that remains etched in the memories of those who were there to witness it.
  10. This achievement has certainly brought a dash of optimism and pride to our club. Macaulay Langstaff's story of patience and belief coming to fruition in the form of his first FL goals is heartening. What is equally encouraging is the acknowledgment of other members' contributions like Sam Austin and the new tactics involving set pieces.
  11. These photos as a reminder of the crucial role fans play in boosting the moral and performance of the team. As the season progresses, I hope these photos will inspire more fans to join in the stands, further bolstering the team's resolve to win. Great effort, @Chris.
  12. This was a fantastic performance from Notts. The tactical changes, and the focus on taking chances showed great effectiveness. Not to mention, Langstaff's work rate received deserved recognition.
  13. This vlog does justice not just to the game, but also to the enthusiastic spirit of the fans. The collective roar at each of Langstaff's goals was electric. A special mention to Jones' goal, which added the proverbial cherry on top of our victory.
  14. This piece is a sterling reminder of how a shared interest can help forge lasting bonds. The way Julie and her family's love for Notts County has evolved over the years, the rituals they follow, the shared experiences - it's all a testament to how this wonderful sport creates thriving communities. The role Pride of Nottingham plays in bringing these stories to the foreground is commendable. Keep sharing these stories @Chris. They weave a rich tapestry that every Notts fan can relate to and be proud of.
  15. I hope we can improve the number of shots we get on target. Luke Williams will know who is best to play, and I wouldn’t know who to suggest. I have seen some fans calling for Macaulay Langstaff to be dropped, but he’s not the problem. The issue is playing him into the game.
  16. Hello, welcome to PON @helcat.
  17. Morecambe seemed to be quite disorganized when they played Mansfield, they appeared to struggle as Mansfield went on the attack. I don't think they will be easy, and I also anticipate that they will try to use the home advantage against us. I am hoping for a favourable result, as moving up the league would boost the players' confidence. Maintaining an unbeaten run also provides assistance, so I would suggest avoiding defeat at all costs.
  18. It would be a positive outcome to secure the win away from home and improve our overall league position. I don't know what to expect from Morecambe, but I do think if Notts approaches the game in the right way, a good result will come.
  19. The game was quite enjoyable. Those two goals by Grimsby did appear to pose a challenge, but I thought Notts responded effectively and put in the effort to equalize. The team worked diligently to secure the victory. Last season, Macaulay Langstaff's attempt before either team scored would likely have been successful, unlike this year where it seems luck hasn't been on our side so far.
  20. It was enjoyable to watch Jodi Jones. He is never afraid to be direct, which is precisely what we have been lacking in this area for years. I thought he played exceptionally well; his crosses are always tempting to be put in the back of the net. I am pleased that he is humble and laughs it off, although I do feel he deserves the goal.
  21. Brilliant comeback win by Notts! The dedication, toughness, and fight for the shirt were evident on the field. The ground literally shook with the uproarious support from our incredible fans. A bit less drama and a little more composed play could absolutely make the team invincible. Fingers crossed for the rest of the season.
  22. It was a sickening and shocking display that left me feeling annoyed. I am very disappointed with the start and can only hope that we can improve. I believe it’s a wake-up call, so let’s see how things go.
  23. Welcome to PON, @JC1966.
  24. Hats off to all the lads for their determined efforts in training. It's not going to be a walk in the park in League Two, but as long as we've got this mentality and level of preparation, we're in for an exciting season!
  25. So our manager Luke Williams is not one for empty boasts, and I like that about him. He acknowledges the tough competition in League Two whilst preparing Notts County to match up. Here's hoping we come out swinging.
