  1. Aye, when one indulges in a playful roll around a hay, we fondly refer to it as a ‘haygambol’. Quite amusing, isn’t it? ????
  2. This image may not have been a contender for any ‘Photo of the Year’ accolades, even in its time. However, for those who hold a fondness for the past and have an interest in railways, it’s a priceless treasure. It’s a timeless capture of Nottingham’s forgotten history. A truly golden piece of nostalgia!
  3. If a person were mapping Nottingham, where would they put Bulwell? ????
  4. @BiggestPieInGlasgow, that’s quite a name! Are we talking about a specific type of pie here? Has it made its way into the Guinness Book of World Records? I’m a fan of meat and potato pies myself. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham community!
  5. Throughout the various seasons, PON has made significant progress. Despite the turmoil both on and off the pitch, this has been a pleasant place to visit and discuss Notts. The content produced is also of high quality. I appreciate that it’s a substantial undertaking for the team.
  6. Well, the press is sometimes duped into publishing stories, but it’s more credible than the previous link. Also, it’s all a matter of ‘maybe’, so I think we just need to rein in our excitement and take things as they come. If Macaulay Langstaff departs and Will Evans is brought in as his replacement, that would be a sensible move. But first, we need to take a step back and assess things as they occur. For now, I’m treating it as speculation.
  7. Yes, but as others have pointed out, it’s going to require more teamwork. If England struggles to score against teams, relying on not conceding or finishing games on penalties isn’t always the best strategy for progress. England hasn’t been that fortunate, so here’s hoping for improvements.
  8. Until more information is available, it’s all conjecture. I haven’t come across any news reports linking him to Notts. He might be in discussions with the club, but it’s common for players to post pictures like that. It seems harmless enough to me, but who can tell? Things might be unfolding, we just have to be patient and see.
  9. I must say, I am thrilled to read most of what he said. He seems to be a very promising signing. Despite some comments suggesting that he might just be a ‘squad’ player, I believe he is much more than that. He appears to be an experienced player who might just bring out the best in those around him. Welcome to Meadow Lane, Curtis Edwards.
  10. https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2024/june/27/welcome--new-website/ It appears that clubs are now opting for unique websites. Personally, I had a preference for the old design. The new one seems a bit sophisticated, almost as if it’s meant for a restaurant or hotel. I’m confident that it will grow on me in time. You can spot the difference by visiting the websites of other league teams, such as Hartlepool United. The website of Grimsby Town looks rather appealing. I’m uncertain about the extent of Notts’ involvement in the new design. https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/
  11. Matt Palmer’s story is motivating. His candidness about the struggles with his injury last season and his determined approach to recovery at Saint George's Park show his mental strength. The notable improvement in his knee speaks volumes about his dedication. I’m really looking forward to watching him and Scott Robertson play together; their dynamics should be fascinating. Palmer’s optimism and respect for Notts County’s ambitions highlight his connection with the club. His journey makes me appreciate the unpredictable yet rewarding nature of football even more.
  12. The Pride of Nottingham is a real blessing for us Notts supporters. I value the hard work everyone puts in, and I must say, I read all the articles that are published. I reckon I should make a point of visiting the discussions a bit more often. It seems like there are some thrilling changes on the horizon.
  13. What a fantastic addition to the squad! Curtis Edwards’ journey from non-league football to becoming a key player in Scandinavian leagues is truly inspiring. His experience in the Europa League and his performances show his calibre. Not only is he a versatile midfielder, but his hard-working nature and technical skills will undoubtedly bolster our team. I trust our management and recruitment teams have made a thoughtful choice here. It’s going to be thrilling to see how he fits in with the rest of the squad.
  14. @ARLukomski Have you visited the doctor for a check-up? Please disregard my light-hearted humour. I’m genuinely worried about you, as are many in the PON community. I hope you start feeling better soon!
  15. McDonald's acquisition by Notts County is quite exciting! His experience from Harrogate Town, coupled with his familiarity with Jodi Jones and Cedwyn Scott, should make for some cohesive team play. It’s also heartening to hear him speak so highly of the club's plans. Clearly, he’s committed to making an impact, and his competitive nature is just what the team needs. His dual focus on defence and attacking play is refreshing and will bring stability to the squad. Notts fans have a lot to look forward to this season, and McDonald’s enthusiasm is definitely contagious.
  16. In my view, it’s a sound signing. He brings a wealth of experience and two promotions to his credit. This will prove beneficial when the matches start coming in quick succession. Hopefully, he’ll be a commanding voice on the field, which is precisely what we need. Welcome to Meadow Lane, Rod McDonald.
  17. I'm truly happy to see Notts County investing in Meadow Lane. The improvements, a modern drainage system, a hybrid SIS pitch, and potential for undersoil heating, are all incredible steps forward. It's clear the team and board recognise the need to provide top-notch facilities, and this will undoubtedly enhance the playing experience for the team and the fans. This thoughtful investment sets a great foundation for future success and showcases the club's commitment to excellence.
  18. David McGoldrick might not even be guaranteed a spot, and considering his wages, which I presume would be among the highest, I think we should steer clear of another attacking midfielder. If necessary, James Sanderson should be given the opportunity to start, as that’s the only way he’ll improve. Honestly, I’d prefer to start Jr Morias ahead of Didzy. He had a fantastic start to last season, but his performance declined afterwards. I’d readily reserve him as a substitute to bring on for impact. Cedwyn Scott should be chosen over him, or occasionally Jr Morias. Apart from that, I think the squad is shaping up nicely.
  19. Yes, it’s the performance and tactics that are preventing England from advancing. The start has been disappointing, but the talent is definitely there. I’d imagine Gareth Southgate has been addressing this in training, so I’m hopeful we’ll see improvements on Tuesday night.
  20. The interview with Stuart Maynard is quite good. He appears to be very content, and the additional time given to him should yield positive results. I hope fans will be understanding if the start is slower than anticipated. As long as we improve and all the new signings gel well together, Notts stands a good chance of being promoted this season. Based on the signings, it seems that’s the focus. So, let’s approach the new season as a fresh beginning.
  21. For some reason, I thought this was his last year with us. Given this, I don’t see why there’s any concern about Macaualay Langstaff leaving. With two years left on his contract, there’s ample time to secure a higher fee from potential suitors. Even if Notts were to wait until the final year, as long as he continues to score and clubs show interest, he will command a fee. I hope he stays long enough to break Sir Les Bradd’s all-time record. While it would be a bittersweet day for Les, I’m sure he’d be pleased to see someone surpass his record one day.
  22. Hello there, @Jake! A warm welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. It’s great to hear that you’re committed to the upcoming season. You’ll find Meadow Lane full of life on match days. I hope you enjoy the experience and continue to visit PON regularly. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on Notts and any other topics you find interesting.
  23. I wasn’t aware of her previously, but now that I know she’s a Notts County supporter, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for her. It’s wonderful to see her representing the club, as it might attract her fans.
  24. It’s heartening to see his smile return. A bit of confidence can make a big difference, and I believe he stands a good chance of kicking off this season on a high note. If he can utilise his managerial skills to bring out the best in the team, the disappointing results and poor form should be a thing of the past. The new signings are sure to be a big help.
  25. Hello, @Scotty. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham! Take a seat, have your say and enjoy being a member.
