Notts to celebrate Forest cup win
Not sure what you're all going to make of this. I've posted the link below but have copied and pasted the article to save you the click. Notts to celebrate neighbours' Cup win With Forest just 90 minutes away from the FA Cup final, the dream of Wembley glory is tantalisingly close. And Notts County chiefs have come up with a unique gesture should their rivals lift the cup in May. In the event of Forest winning the trophy, the Reds are to incorporate a red shield on next season's shirts featuring the FA Cup, the Forest badge and two stars symbolising their two FA Cup wins. And their Trentside neighbours plan to do likewise, sewing the celebratory red badges next to their own badge on next season's home shirt. A Notts source commented: "Forest winning the FA Cup would be a once-in-a-lifetime event for everyone in the city. With this symbolic gesture we want to maintain the current positive relations between the clubs and extend our congratulations to our neighbours." Councillor Jo King added: "This is a wonderful example of our city of sport standing together and shows how much more we can achieve when we work together. I'm sure every County fan will be delighted to sport Forest's special FA Cup badge for the whole of the 25-26 season." As part of the celebrations, tentative plans are also being drawn up to parade the famous trophy at Meadow Lane prior to County's first home game of the season while "Mull of Kintyre" plays over the tannoy. Goalkeeper Tyler Miller to Notts
OK, I'm assuming he'll be backup now as he seems to be lacking match practice. I'd never heard of an ESC payer before; in Germany, ESC is what they call the Eurovision Song Contest

Final table calculator
Here's mine. I might have been a bit generous with the top teams, but it seems we'll need at least 80 points in most scenarios. That's 5 wins, or alternatively 4 wins and 3 draws. Beating Bradford or Doncaster would be massive.

Final table calculator
As we're entering the last few games and things are tight at the top, I thought I'd try calculating the final league table based on the last few fixtures. Have a go yourself: https://thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?competition=4 I ended up with Walsall, Bradford and Doncaster going up automatically on 84 points, followed by Port Vale on 83, Wimbledon on 82 and Notts in sixth, comfortably qualifying for the play-offs with 78 points. We've still got to play Bradford and Doncaster and I had us to lose them; those games will be pivotal to our chances of making the top three. What did you get?

Super Sam Slocombe
He's a good choice as far as backup goalkeepers in League Two go. He struggled last season due to a calamitous defence and the constant rotation with Stone; with a steadier defence in front of him, he'll do a steady enough job. That said, he still has his "moments" and I'd be glad to see Bass back again.
-
Cal Roberts back in form
Great to see he's back on form and having a good season. However, for me it's tinged with a little sadness that he's playing at that level - he looked an unbelievable player at times in the NL and I'd have loved to see how he'd get on in League Two or higher.

Match Discussion: Game 26 - The Mariners. (A)
The first half might not have been great, but I thought we put in a very assured performance in the second half. I was also pleased to see us continue to be proactive and dictate the game after scoring, rather than sitting back and handing the initiative to the opposition. McGoldrick's goal was beautiful, although I initially thought he should have played Jatta in! A good away win against a team that could have overtaken us if we'd lost - we're now five points clear of them. Big points, as the Germans would say. Now let's get back in the top three this weekend.

Mansfield Asst. Manager gives it both barrels
He's not a happy chappy is he? Credit to him for telling it how he sees it. Nonetheless, it's a bad sign when the assistant manager gets wheeled out to do interviews. 15 matches without a win is shocking, but I think the points gathered early in the season will help get them over the line. They're still eight points clear.

Prediction league 24/25 round 36 - Saturday 8 March
Saturday's results: Swansea City 1-0 Middlesbrough West Brom 1-0 QPR Stevenage 1-1 Mansfield Town Wigan Athletic 1-0 Cambridge United Barrow 2-0 Accrington Stanley Salford City 1-1 Crewe Alexandra AFC Fylde 0-2 Braintree Town Southend United 2-1 Altrincham --- Congrats to @Robbie, who wins this round! All the top three made it into double figures... --- @ARLukomski and @super_ram march on at the top of the table - with ten rounds to go, they have both already surpassed @ARLukomski's winning total of 219 from last season! --- Check by again tomorrow for Saturday's fixtures. Until then, as always, thanks for playing!

Our next round will be this coming Saturday, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Have a good week

Match Discussion: Game 36 - The Wombles (A)
Yeah, that was poor. Wimbledon were better in every department in the first half and deserved their lead. We improved in the second, but still struggled to create chances. With Wimbledon having kept 18 clean sheets, it's not surprising that ahcnes were at a premium, but the two preventable goals in the first half killed us. Jatte and Palmer missed chances to make a game of it later on. Palmer is a key player for us and has many good qualities, but taking corners and free kicks is not one of them. Either we go back to Williamsball and just keep the ball on the ground, or we find someone who can cross the ball. Even if that means sitting Jodi Jones in a chair in the centre circle and letting him get up for the set pieces. This is the time of the season that promotion-winning teams really click into gear and we're a long way from our best form. I think there have been too many changes on and off the pitch and too many injuries, and the chickens are coming home to roost a bit now. However, we're still fifth and well in the mix, even if I don't really fancy us right now.
