  2. I can't express how delighted I am that Jodi Jones has signed a new contract with Notts. His assist record is nothing short of spectacular and shows his importance to our attacking strategy. Beyond his statistics, Jones’ ability to adapt and improve his game demonstrates his commitment to the club. Stuart Maynard praising Jodi's defensive efforts is particularly encouraging, as it shows he's becoming a more well-rounded player. His skill on the right wing this season has been a key factor in our success. It's reassuring to know he’ll be part of our team until 2027. Here's to many more assists, goals, and unforgettable moments from Jodi!
  3. I think Tom’s article captures what it’s like to be a Notts supporter right now. Meadow Lane is a much livelier place now, so I commend him for pointing it out. The club’s commitment to the local community is commendable. Initiatives like keeping the Portland Centre open show that Notts County cares about more than just football. It’s about making a difference in people’s lives.
  4. The recruitment at Notts has been the best in years under the Reedtz era. We need to trust the board and Stuart Maynard to bring in the right players. Even though we might not have had the busiest transfer windows, we've filled important areas like up front. Rallying what you have can be good for a close-knit squad looking for promotion. Maynard has thrived with better options on the bench and a stronger starting lineup. This must make his job much easier, so I see no faults.

  6. That's a good observation about Accrington Stanley. It must be challenging to deal with the number of players they lose, but they seem to have a strong team spirit.
  7. Honouring Sven with a minute's applause should echo throughout Meadow Lane. I hope fans behave themselves and don't ruin it like the last major tribute. A heartfelt send-off is the least we can do, especially considering he left us without receiving money that he waived.
  8. A huge congratulations to the team for the Swindon win! It was a nail-biter, but the Magpies showed exceptional resilience. Stuart Maynard has indeed crafted a team with defensive solidity and clinical finishing. David McGoldrick's goals were sublime and crucial to our win. What’s commendable is the depth of the squad, with the less regular players stepping up admirably in the absence of key figures. The newly signed players like George Abbott bring versatility and promise to the team. If we maintain this level of performance, we could be in for a phenomenal season. Let’s hope we work on intensity and ball recovery to stay consistent. Onward and upward!
  9. Th victory over Swindon Town showed our resilience and determination. The team fought back from a deficit, scoring twice to secure a hard-earned win. While Swindon Town played some attractive football, they struggled to create significant scoring opportunities against Notts' resolute defence. Although our passing could have been more precise at times, the victory on the road and the spirited performance were encouraging signs. David McGoldrick was the hero of the game, delivering a strong performance and contributing crucial goals. His contributions highlight his value to the team and his ability to make a difference in important matches. Overall, this victory was a positive step forward for Notts, demonstrating their potential and their ability to overcome challenges.
  10. I agree. I wouldn't have expected a statement from the board about transfer activity, and I believe it's intended to please fans. I appreciate the update, as it reminds people that we are trying to be sustainable and operate within our means. This alone suggests that some of the targets were simply not financially feasible, which is understandable.
  11. Poor Yeovil, they won't be able to forget this for a long time.
  12. I don't think it's a particularly exciting signing, but as others have said, the most important thing is that he performs well. If he doesn't contribute, I don't see us keeping him, so his playing time will be limited. Therefore, it's in his best interest to be as involved as possible. Regarding the incident, I would have liked more details about what caused the disturbance. I don't condone his actions in any way, but from what I've read, the woman was angry with him and had assaulted Jevani Brown by pulling his hair. Blaming alcohol consumption is a weak excuse, and lashing out is wrong. However, the media often automatically portray women as victims, even when they can be equally guilty. I don't think his actions were wise, but if she was provoking him, it doesn't justify his behaviour. Both parties acted inappropriately, and one should not be excused while the other is harshly criticised.
  13. Derby County 2-1 Bristol City Plymouth Argyle 3-2 Stoke City Crawley Town 0-1 Barnsley Peterborough United 2-3 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 1-2 Colchester United Carlisle United 2-2 Tranmere Rovers Altrincham 0-1 Oldham Athletic Joker ???? Gateshead 3-1 Eastleigh
  14. Macari’s interview is a great insight into his mindset and development. Moving away from Stoke with such deep family ties must have been challenging, but it’s clear he’s made the most of it. His comments about last season and the focus on defensive solidity this time around are encouraging. It’s also good to see his eagerness to continue playing consistently and contributing to the team’s success. Notts seems to have gained a dedicated and focused player who is raring to help push for success this season. Hoping he keeps up this excellent form and stays injury-free!
  15. It’s still interesting to see more news about Football Radar. It would have been nice if it were our Kevin Nicholson, but yeah, unless he’s been to Turkey for a full hair transplant and some liposuction, it’s definitely not him. Don’t feel bad about it, @Piethagoram. It just means you’re human.
  16. Tom Keetley's story is both inspiring and sad. It’s amazing how he set records, becoming a legendary figure in the sport, but heart breaking to read about his struggles after football, as the physical and emotional toll of his career became more apparent. Despite his remarkable achievements, he faced numerous challenges in his post-football life, leaving behind a legacy marked by both triumph and personal hardship.
  17. Some say Stuart Maynard is out of his depth and lacks experience, but the only way to improve is by challenging, gaining form, and working together. I don’t think he’s out of his depth; this is harsh. Every manager must learn from results. Notts are building an incredible squad, which is competitive. I hope the season continues to be successful, showing Maynard is good enough and getting us where we fans want to be.
  18. Jodi Jones might repeat this if he keeps up his current form.
  19. Martin Lewis gives good advice. People should listen to him to lock in their payments. It helps save money in the long run. It’s wrong that prices are going up though.
  20. Jenas might be treated unfairly by the media. His actions should stay private unless people complain. The BBC is trying too hard to be transparent. It might not be as simple as the media says. It’s probably nothing, but time will tell if anything becomes public.
  21. Sunderland 1-1 Burnley Charlton Athletic 2-0 Bolton Wanderers Joker Lincoln City 0-1 Mansfield Town Cheltenham Town 1-2 AFC Wimbledon Newport County 0-0 Accrington Stanley Rochdale 3-2 Forest Green Rovers Sutton United 0-0 York City
  22. I didn’t expect the performance. I don’t know about anyone else, but I think the idea of Notts putting 4 goals past Grimsby would have been rare. It was a classy performance by Notts. I felt a bit sorry for the travelling Grimsby fans. They tried to spark some banter with their chants, which was nice to hear, but their team let them down. It looked like they didn’t know how to cope against Notts, who played in fifth gear.
  23. McGoldrick has shown incredible resilience and a great attitude, even when not getting the minutes he might have hoped for. His readiness to step up whenever needed and his willingness to mentor younger teammates is a testament to his character and experience. It’s fantastic to see a veteran player not just looking out for his interests but also contributing to the team's future. His experience will be vital as the season progresses, and I’m sure he’ll have his moments to shine.
  24. It’s not good to go 3-2 down when you had all the game to play for earlier when you led. That is the frustrating part, conceding 3 and the effort to win the challenges stopping. The press disappeared, and whilst I am pleased we managed to pull it back, I do feel sorry for some of the lads who played outstandingly well but were let down by poor decisions and individual mistakes.
  25. The goalless draw against Tranmere was packed with positives for Notts County. Stuart Maynard’s satisfaction with the defensive display was echoed by fans, as Beadau and Platt were standout performers. Bass’s command in goal was noteworthy. Grant impressively settled into the team, despite his late arrival. His stability in midfield was commendable. The team’s control in possession, particularly in the second half, showed promise for the season. The need for sharper execution in the final third was evident, but it’s only the first game. With a few key players out, there's room to grow. The fan support was fantastic and really boosted the team.
