  3. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Notitngham @Peter Speers. I hope to see you join in with the Notts talk here on PoN.
  4. The U18s have done very well. Fulham will be a test, and supporters shouldn't make any comparison between their level and ours. Notts are making good progress with the youngsters. I wish them well.
  5. I don’t know what to expect. Early on in the season, I would have felt confident. I think the players are going through a transition, and the outcome of games really depends on many different factors. Carlisle away, for example, we scored twice and then never really pushed for a third. The squad needs to remain hungry throughout the game against Chesterfield and not rely so much on our defending. Otherwise, it could be a long 90 minutes.
  6. There has to be a level of common sense. Even after challenges are made, the FA should review what caused the injury and make suspensions to the offending players when it’s been missed by officials. Whilst it wouldn’t help Jodi Jones, it may start to prevent those types of tackles and give more thought to the officials to make a better judgement on them.
  7. I think Pep ruins football because he tends to bring in big players without giving younger ones a real chance. He signed that lad from Leeds, Kalvin Phillips I believe, and has virtually ruined his career, especially at the international level. He had the chance to bring Ollie Palmer into Manchester City’s first team but sold him to Chelsea. A good manager would see these players’ true potential and how they would fit in. Phillips was never going to work out at City.
  8. It’s what we needed, as we can’t afford not to have attacking options on the bench. His age means there’s something there that is ready to play but also potential to unearth a player that just needs to settle within a first-team environment. League Two and One might be more his standard right now. So, it could be a good signing, but I don’t read much into the Premier League starts. It’s good but not something to go on about.
  9. I do wonder if we are due a 0-0 draw, with Morecambe doing everything to spoil our day out to the seaside. I can’t imagine there won’t be chances, but it would just be our luck to see them clear the lines several times, put bodies in the way, and for their keeper to play a blinder.
  10. I wish Aidan Stone all the very best. I hope he finds a club where he can enjoy more success and establish himself as a number one. I do think we need better, but I am puzzled as to why Sam Slocombe remains our second choice, despite his obvious flaws and injury issues.
  11. I don’t think either are as good as people claim. There’s too much money in the game, and I don’t think you can compare them to managers like Sir Bobby Robson or Sir Alex Ferguson, who would both be higher up my list of all-time greatest managers. I can’t stand Pep; he seems to think he’s football’s answer to Jesus. He turns clubs into champions when they already have been and walks on grass as if he’s walking on water. He’s had an easy life at Manchester City. I have far more respect for the self-proclaimed chosen one.
  12. I think Jodi Jones might be out for a short time or perhaps up to 2 months, but this is all pure speculation. Those claiming he’s out for the season are just after likes. Those who claim to be in the know probably don’t know anything more than us, and if one or two happen to be right, they are either gaining information from someone else or guessing right. It’s a bit disrespectful to Jodi Jones, I feel. I hope he’s back sooner rather than later, but we need to look after him.
  13. Well done to Pride of Nottingham’s Man of the Match, Jacob Bedeau. He played brilliantly and truly deserved the recognition. His performance was outstanding and made a big difference in the game. Congratulations, Jacob!
  14. Yes, I would say Jacob Bedaeu deserves my vote.
  15. I think he’s being linked solely because of what @menzinho mentioned, but I wouldn’t think he would leave a job he hasn’t been involved in for long. Then again, he might see it as safer with MK Dons being tipped to win the league before the season started. Maybe he would do better in charge of a team like Carlisle? I don’t know. I don’t think we will know if it’s true until something happens.
  16. It’s great to see Notts County making smart moves in the transfer window. The new players have settled in well, and the team looks strong. The defence is solid, and the midfield has depth. The owners seem to have a good plan, and I feel positive about our chances this season. Let’s hope we keep up the good work and push for promotion!
  17. Impressive! It shows how dominant Notts can be at scoring goals from open play. It would be great to see someone firing home free kicks. I always love seeing them fly into the back of the net.
  18. If I hadn’t seen it, I wouldn’t have believed it. I don’t think the player should have fouled the keeper, but I do think a yellow card could have been given.
  19. He looks like a strong loan signing, doesn’t he? George Abbott should become a lot more confident with more time to settle and plenty more minutes. I think it will be interesting to see how Scott Robertson fits in because Abbott would make my starting team ahead of Robertson currently. I know Robertson is out at the moment, but even when fit, I would choose Abbott.
  20. The main point for me is how confident the team played. They were not worried or less creative. There were complaints about backward passing, but this is happening less now. Going forward, at least against Accrington, Notts looked determined to show their quality.
  21. How do you check? Well done to you, @BromPie, on your milestone here on PoN.
  22. No complaints here. Even if it had ended 1-1, I’d still be happy because there are plenty of signs that the club is heading in the right direction.
  23. I welcome him and hope he enjoys his time at Meadow Lane. I’d want any player to have this experience, and if he helps Notts, that's even better. He’s been punished, apologised, and I believe him. No one should keep holding it against him. People make mistakes, and while it’s unfortunate, only he is still being judged for it. I don't think a footballer would risk their career by drinking and becoming violent. It's in the past, and people should accept that and move on. Especially if you don’t know all the facts.
  24. Alassana Jatta has done well for Notts. He didn’t need much time to settle, and that stood out to me. I don’t worry about goals; Jatta and others will get them. I am pleased he has become such an important part of this Notts County squad.
  25. I like that Football Radar are data-driven. I think it has played a part in the success we have experienced so far. Interesting info mentioned in the messages.
