An interesting read...a fraudster jailed for selling fake Scottish tea
He definitely caused a stir with that fake Scottish brew. I’m glad he got found out, but I have to admit it was a clever trick. At first, I didn’t think it was much different to what some bottled water companies do when they repackage tap water and call it spring water.

Another departure
I get the feeling he wasn’t happy about being passed over and wanted to keep the role he’d worked hard for. If he’d gone back to being a coach, maybe he’d have felt like he’d lost his chance to move forward again. With a few new coaches arriving and him still wanting to be assistant, the club probably felt they had enough in place. That must have made it harder for Joao Alves to take a step back, so in the end, they both agreed it was time for him to find something new.

Fixture release day
The fixture list looks kind on paper, but things can change once the season starts. What I want most is for Meadow Lane to feel like a fortress again. That would lift the team, especially when they’re away from home, knowing the fans are backing them all the way. I like the look of the season and if we can build some momentum and follow Paterson’s strong attitude, we’ll be in a good place. A mate of mine who doesn’t even support Notts said Paterson reminds him of Vinnie Jones. He wondered if that tough, win-at-all-costs mindset could bring out the best in us. He’s a Chelsea fan, so take that how you will!

Interview Sam Slocombe
Sam gave a really good interview, and I'm glad he's sticking around. I think he'll make a great coach. Some people might wonder why he isn’t the new goalkeeping coach, but he still has a lot to offer. He can help attacking players learn how to get past top keepers, which is just as useful.

Happy Birthday, @Fan of Big Tone. Great way to celebrate!

Welcome to Notts Academy: Nimesh Patel.
Welcome to Meadow Lane, Nimesh Patel. I agree with those before me in hoping that he can bring the best out of the academy and help young players find their path to the first team. Developing talent takes patience and the right guidance, and if he can provide that, the club will benefit greatly in the long run.

What's Behind the Delay to Appoint a New Head Coach?
Whatever is going on at the club, it’s clearly keeping people busy. If there's a four-week break after the final game, it likely means people will be back in soon. The board might want to improve certain areas before speaking to the head coach. Talks could still be happening, or maybe terms have been agreed but not finalised yet for whatever reason. We can all guess, but until we know more, it's just a case of waiting.

Where are they now : Jon Stead
Good luck to Jon. I don't think anyone can truly say who will or won't make a good assistant or manager. Wayne Rooney was a world class player, but he's not been great as a manager. On the other hand, some of the best managers never played at a high level or barely played at all.

Offside law changed, following campaign by Swedish club
Didn't the Forest chairman protest about VAR and the offside rules? I don’t think all these changes help, but if they make things a little clearer, then it’s a good thing overall.

Pavis, KOP or Family Stand: Where do you sit when attending games?
I sit in the Kop and enjoy the view I have of the games. The atmosphere tends to be decent too. Hopefully, we can be much louder this upcoming campaign.

Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. We are glad to be welcoming you @SRK1862.

Welcome Aw Saint
Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Aw Saint. Great to see a St Mirren's fan showing interest in Notts, there's a few fans that come down from Scotland. You might be lucky this year with the shirt releases, but I wouldn't count on it. They also sell out fast, as the club doesn't buy enough.

It's really good to see you joining in @PieHard, welcome to the community! The Pride of Nottingham is a very enjoyable site, and considering social media is where most people tend to hang out it's refreshing to have a site like this to come and avoid all that negative stuff.

Former #Notts player, Ian Baraclough, in hospital
He played before I started watching Notts, but I'm grateful for everything he did and for the support he gave the club during the fundraising efforts. I wish him all the best in his recovery. It sounds like a horrible thing to go through. I hope he’s able to walk again and get back to a more normal life.

Brian Wilson RIP
I know of the Beach Boys and have listened to their music, but I'm not too familiar with the members. From reading the comments, it seems he was one of the main members and wrote many of the lyrics. It's very sad to hear that he has passed away.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, but the main thing is you're here now. Get involved with the Notts content, support everything to do with the club, and enjoy the chats.

Match Discussion: Play Off Semi - The Dons (H)
Notts had plenty of chances to change the outcome well before Jatta was sent off. Conor Grant should have put more power on his chip, that was a huge miss for us and a sign of how unfortunate we would be. I don’t think Wimbledon looked all that strong in their win. They have a good keeper and height in their defence, but I wouldn’t rule Notts out doing better away from home. Still, the loss was disappointing. I don’t fault the effort from any player. I just wish some of those close calls had been finished more clinically. Jodi Jones gave me hope when he smashed the post, and Goodman celebrated as if he had saved it.
-
Jatta's Red Card
Well, I don't think we can consider "what if" scenarios, as we already know what happened, and the outcome was far from good. It was a horrific decision to dive into a challenge with both feet, and it’s clear they were up. I don’t see how anyone can defend that. Jatta should have left the field immediately. I don’t care if the Wimbledon players provoked him or if he was lashing out. He needed to walk away, act professionally, and accept the decision. If a Notts fan thinks this was acceptable, I would hope they don’t show double standards when reacting to some of the tackles Jodi Jones has endured.
-
Who is your Man of the Match v Crewe?
I don't think David McGoldrick deserved Man of the Match. Even he seemed to disagree, shaking his head at the decision. Will Jarvis was quiet in the first half, almost unnoticeable, but much better in the second half. Charlie Whitaker was excellent until he was subbed off, which was a puzzling decision. Whitaker would be my pick for Man of the Match.

George Foreman RIP.
Rest in peace, George Foreman. It's truly sad to hear about the passing of such a great boxer.

Match Discussion: Game 38 - The Railwaymen (H)
Blaming the referee distracts from the fact that Notts simply wasn't clinical in front of goal. If Notts had created more chances or converted some of them, the referee's decisions wouldn't have been such a talking point. While there were some questionable calls, we need to win matches by scoring goals, not relying on penalties. At times, it felt like the focus was too much on drawing fouls in the penalty area instead of taking shots. Notts weren't terrible, but they looked more like a mid-table team than one pushing for promotion.

Notts Announce the Notts County Supporters Committee.
After Alan Hardy put the club up for sale, BBC News did a segment where Iris Smith from the Supporters Club spoke on camera. They also spoke with a scruffy man in a suit reportedly from The Trust. I don't want to sound personal when I say scruffy, but his hair was a mess, and he looked as if he sleeps in his suit. He didn't say much of interest, and I don't think his opinion is relevant to the general fan. I am sure he's a nice person, but aside from his scruffy appearance, he did not seem to know a lot about Notts, at least about what was going on right now.
-
Who is your Man of the Match v Fleetwood?
Yes, George Abbott was class yesterday. If we had maintained the first half's level of control, the game would have been seen out better. But credit to Fleetwood; they made a real game of it and gave us a scare when they took the lead. Good side, we just needed to be a bit more organised at the back.

Goodbye Josh Martin & Jevani Brown.
I would have hung onto Josh Martin, at least by extending his stay until the rest of the season. Jevani Brown needed to play more regularly in my eyes, but for some reason we just didn't give him enough time in my eyes. He arrived out of favour, low on morale and both players just seem like a wasted opportunity.
