  1. Pulled that one out of the bag... standard 4. Wordle 808 4/6 ???? ???????? ????????????????????
  2. I didn't think this was going to happen..but then it did. Standard 4! Wordle 807 4/6 ???? ???????? ????????????????????
  3. to be fair @Piethagoram I don't think the first one is quite accurate... they are building 47 new hospitals before the next election aren't they? I know our hospital can be classed as 'new' now they have completed the new reception area, and I believe Kent and Canterbury has a new coat of paint! On a less sarcastic note... William Harvey in Ashford has what the staff refer to as a 'new hospital'. My partner has been a regular visitor this summer, and the only new hospital on the site is a small private facility although there is building work on a small new block which may well actually be a car park. As far as I can see there is no new NHS hospital on site, at best there will be 3 or 4 more wards.
  4. One of those where you just need to get the right option.. standard 4 this morning. Wordle 804 4/6 ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????
  5. Wordle 803 4/6 ???? ???????????? ???????????? ???????????????????? 4 again!!
  6. Luckily I was on holiday so forgot to attempt it...but I was back today with a standard 4 (although when I went back in to copy the stats it let me have another go...so it thinks I got it in 1!!) Wordle 802 1/6 ????????????????????
  7. We got to see The Home Service who were very good, albeit they were missing John Tams. They had a replacement in but it was the first time he had played with the band, not that it was obvious except they seemed slightly out of tune (figuratively speaking) with each other , They hadn't even rehearsed all together! and you could only be impressed with their musicianship. My daughter is now stuck in Italy since her flight was cancelled. EasyJet just spent the last couple of days lying about having booked them on another flight, before finally admitting they hadn't done it. Now one of her friends parents is driving down to Basel to meet them! So, after 2 weeks holiday, I need a break!
  8. I was hoping to go camping in Edale this weekend... but my youngest has made plans with friends all week, so that has gone by the by. It's Folk Week here in Broadstairs, so I may get a couple of gigs in instead... or I'll clear the loft!! I'll be keeping up to date with the game via various websites and message boards!
  9. This is terrible news. I hope he makes as speedy recovery as possible and is back in the squad earlier than thought (ideally before the end of the season).
  10. Wordle strikes back!
  11. This is a 'not lose' game for confidence reasons. Another tonking and it's beginning to look like a long road back confidence wise which will make the season tougher than it needs to be (and it's tough enough already). We will come good in the end, but a loss this weekend will delay that a bit. What I would go for: Stone Tipton - Cameron - Chicksen Bostock - Palmer Namane - JOB - Crowley - Randall McGoldrick Scott (I know I know, but I think he gives us slightly different options up front!) Subs: Slocombe, TAR, Jones, Rawlinson, Langstaff My concern with that line up is there are an awful lot of changes, so I expect it to be Tipton in for Baldwin and other than that pretty much the same side as started against Sutton.
  12. Back to standard 4! Wordle 783 4/6 ???? ???????? ???????????? ????????????????????
  13. Unusually on the ball this morning. Wordle 782 3/6 ???????????? ???????????? ????????????????????
  14. Standard again! Wordle 781 4/6 ???? ???????? ???????????????? ????????????????????
  15. I agree on Scott - I think he is the better forward. I think that he is more clinical and may well have a higher goals per chance ratio (I've not checked). Personally I am pretty excited about the extension. I agree that it is probably in response to clubs sniffing round, and only to ensure that we get a decent compensation for losing his services... but that means that we have a commercially aware set up and gives us he best opportunity to improve the squad when he moves on. I would also be offering Bostock an extension.
  16. BAck to 4! Wordle 780 4/6 ???????????? ????????????????????
  17. Wow... that is a statement!
  18. The new rules should be good in the end. It was a bit frustrating that Nemane and Cameron (?) were stood on the sideline for what felt like an age (I didn't realise the rules had changed), but I think it will stop players just going down to disrupt the other team. The fact that Arsenal scored so late may also point to the fact that time wasting can come back to bite you and may help stamp that out too.
  19. I really enjoyed the afternoon. Sure the result was disappointing and the performance was 'meh', but it was great to be back in the EFL (even if the ground as worse than several NFL grounds). The fans showed humour and never gave up. I have been giving the match some thought in light of what others thought and what I saw. I think the doom and gloom that you can read in other places is totally overblown and we will be OK in the end. I think we were mentally not at the game, and that was the main difference. When we strung some passes together we showed we are more than good enough for this league. We seemed surprised by the speed, and that may take a bit of getting used to, . Last season we weren't given many close examinations. Even Boreham Wood and Chesterfield were games that we knew we were good enough to win (albeit we nearly contrived not to). I wonder if the fact that us and Wrexham cantered to promotions has meant that our defences aren't as battle hardened as they could be. We will need to learn quickly on this though. I think we will, but it may take a few games. I think once we find our feet, realise we need to be that bit quicker, more accurate and that the challenges will be tougher and more constant then we will start to see last seasons team emerging, Wasn't their number 9 and odious piece of work? He just seemed to be there to wind up fans and players alike; something he did with relish. I felt for Stone. I didn't think he had a lot of choices with the back pass. At the time I thought it was harsh, but seeing the replay I think the decision was right. I'm not sure what else he could have done. The comments he is getting are beyond ridiculous. I think his sending off affected the score (despite what Williams says), but, sadly, I don't think it changed the result.
  20. It could have been 3... too many options at the end and too the wrong one a couple of times. Wordle 779 5/6 ???????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????
  21. Back to standard! Wordle 776 4/6 ???????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????
  22. I don't think we will underestimate them - we had plenty of practice last season and hopefully learned our lesson against Dorking. If anyone will prepare the team well, it's Luke Williams.
  23. Wow - I had to read that a few times before I fully grasped it!
  24. I find it hard to predict most matches, so the first game of the season is really tricky. My feeling is that with most of last year's squad still together, and a surprising lack of interest in Macca, I think the relatively short time between the playoff and preseason will see enough of the 'feel good' factor to see us through. I just think it will help us hit the ground running a bit more. It will be an interesting line up. I suspect we won't go with the more compact 4 at the back as we will fancy dominating Sutton, so midfield of Palmer, Bostock with McGoldrick and Crowley ahead, Macca up front (Unless this injury is still bothering him, in which case Scott - I actually think Scott is as good, if not better). I think the back 5 will be the Nemane, Baldwin, Cameron, Brindley and Jones. The subs will be so interesting - Randall, Chicksen, Slocome, Scott, Tipton (?)..but what about Austin, maybe Austin for Scott as he is a little more versatile, or Chicksen? I really have no idea, and I don't get to watch enough games to make a really informed choice, I just think it is very exciting, extremely interesting and I can't wait (even if we do get soaked on the open terrace!!). Score - 3 - 0 to Notts.
  25. That's better!! Wordle 775 3/6 ???????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????
