  1. We didn't struggle at Shrewsbury. We were excellent in the first half, dropped off in the second and came back to equalize in the last minute. With Bass in goal we might even have won the shoot out. As they have been all season! Posh won't have been happy with this draw. I'm expecting a tight game; 1-0 either way.
  2. That’s a team that’s good enough for promotion. I still think we need to sign another striker. Not at all convinced by Scott at this level. And I do wonder if the absence of an extended contract means that Crowley will be off to a team in the top half of League 1 or the bottom half of the Championship.
  3. Right after the game, I said Crowley. Ran the game in midfield and a crucial block on the line. We didn't look the same when he went off. But having slept on it - it's Bass. Sure; he was lucky at times, but he rode that luck and pulled off a string of great saves. Probably the signing of the Summer, whatever he cost.
  4. Although with Slocombe in goal, we were more likely to have the numbers for the National Lottery
  5. Good summary. Sounds like it could be a cracking game and a very good test for both teams.
  6. Maybe the club just doesn’t feel he’s developed enough and the National League is his level?
  7. Yet another home kit that I don't like. Why can't we just have black and white stripes? I don't like that the stripes at the side don't go all the way down. I don't like the badge and the manufacturer in the middle of the shirt. I hate the red sponsors logo. I'm a boring old fart and I want a classic Notts shirt. Have I bought one? Of course I have.
  8. Any clue how many tickets Notts have sold? We need a win...
  9. It looked red to me at the time, and it looks red watching it again. Cynical, deliberate and dangerous. Ref should have stopped and thought for 5 seconds.
  10. This 100%. We are not ready to go up and if we do, then our stay in League 1 will be painful and short. We haven't looked like a promotion team since Mattie P got injured. I will be very happy with the season if we finish in or around the playoffs. Then we push on next season without having to worry about Stockport, Wrexham, Mansfield. OK; we won't have Macca and Jodi, and I wonder if this is Didzy's last season, but we'll still be well set Stones positioning seemed off all day. There were a lot of balls that he didn't come for and I thought it was lucky that he got away with it most of the time.
  11. The Macari one is weird. I think it was the day after he signed his permanent contract that Luke said it was an injury at home. Now it’s described as a “freak illness”. What’s a freak illness? Baj and Matty both sound like ACL’s? Used to be career ending (Clough) but now regularly come back stronger after 6-9 months out.
  12. A very strong feeling that no-one’s going to be busting a gut to get the pitch declared fit. The new gaffer would probably prefer not to have a game against the league leaders after 48 hours in the job.
  13. Luke praises everyone before and after every game!
  14. @TheSkipper Thanks... You greedy season ticket holders got them all before we got a look in on this one! I knew there'd be a few grounds I wanted to tick off this season where I'd miss out. Can't grumble at the away support this year.
  15. I’m going to be in Harrogate without a ticket on Saturday (offered the other half a pre Christmas weekend away regardless of football, so no backing out). If anyone can’t make it or hears of a couple of spares, I’ll be happy to take them off your hands.
  16. It was Matty until his injury. No coincidence that our slight slump in form coincided with his injury. Dan Crowley for sure - and has been the player who has most impressed the non-Notts fans who have come to games with me this season. Jodi is a superb player but can be frustratingly invisible at times. And by his nature, McGoldrick can be quiet for most of the game and then change it with a couple of moments of class.
  17. Bookies have us as favourites, but despite their injuries, any game against a mid-table team in a higher division will be a test. A team that bypasses the midfield and goes for free kicks and corners might have a field day. But equally, if Jodi and Aaron can dominate and get good ball to the front three, we'll be fine.
  18. Well; I'd say it's Evens!
  19. There’s no need to panic. Yes; the defence was poor on Saturday, and tbe midfield didn’t click for much of game (we are really missing Matty P). But we fought back well, could have scored a 3rd before Wimbledon did. And we were very unlucky to lose so late to Crewe. Maybe we’re not a top 3 team in this division, but when we click like we did in the first half against Bradford, or for much of the Swindon gama, we can beat anyone. We’ll feel a lot better with three points tomorrow.
  20. I gave up sweets and chocolate last year, so this won't impact me, But I did like a Caramac. Even though it had the consistency of plastic.
  21. I thought there was a small chance that had Liam been offered the Bristol job then he might have taken it, given his history there and that he seemed to leave them on good terms. He will be mentoned every time a vacancy comes up. I am less concerned about him being tempted by Oxford.
  22. Does he still think we're mates after the way Trew treated him?
  23. We're flooded in. 2-3 feet of water in all directions cutting off the village. Partner's daughter trying to come home by tractor (that's Suffolk). I think the pub's open, so we'll go there for tea. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to get out tomorrow.
  24. A couple of their goals were top drawer and very little that Stone could have done about them. Just frustrating that the third goal was never a free kick or a booking and was taken from the wrong place. And the ball he gave away for the first one... blimey; that was a shocker. Jodi's goal... sublime. "Always believe in...".
  25. On the plus side, this was my first time at Colchester's "new" (ish) ground. And there were a lot of positives. Really cheap tickets if you bought in advance, with ample cheap secure parking right off the A12 and an 8 minute walk. Decent fan zone, helpful stewards, free programmes, and a good view from seats right by the pitch. Unfortunately, a few of our fans can be right dicks, especially at away games. We know who they are, and we see them having a go every week (is it too direct to say the same old "Weekend Offenders"?). Yes, the keeper was time-wasting. The ref dealt with it. You don't shove players. And if you do, then you deserve to be thrown out (and he was lucky to be the only one). If you have a season ticket then the club needs to tell you that's the fastest way to lose it. As for the idiot who threw the ball back on the pitch when Jodi was trying to take a quick corner; what were you thinking? You deserved the earful he gave you (though it was typically classy of Jodi to apologise afterwards). Our fans have built up a good reputation over the last couple of years. Don't let a few idiots spoil things.
