  1. what ever happened to the young lad that our academy released due to being to small, who then went on the be a jockey? this is a great thing, i am not familar with hayley turner but seeing her wear the notts training gear is really great to see. its like notts is a bit more trendy to support these days. we should always be proud.
  2. seems a bit weird but good luck to barrow.
  3. paul gascoigne - gazza kevin pilkington - pilks dean leacock - deano
  4. the more you read and watch about him, the more it makes you appreciate his ability and how it seems to be the perfect fit for us. we just have to get the best out of players and with the squad we are building, i hope we can give him the game time needed to shine. i am sure he will, but its much like how we need to give adam chicksen the chance to repeat his promotion season form with us.
  5. t this is spot on, it was one of those games where both teams knew they would score but it was a matter of who would out score the other. i thought it would be a draw at one point but colchester pushed for the win. defensively both teams were a real nightmare.
  6. i dont think there is much difference between him and archie mair, both keepers never seemed comfortable enough.
  7. he starts off the bat blaming gareth southgate, if this was a narrow win against germany it would be celebrated as a genius decision. no tactics were changed after england scored, it forced serbia to come out. the goal came at a point where england should have got a second, but because they was not creative enough going forward it invited serbia to be braver. i would agree that we should be in a good position to win the euros but the squad needs to be braver.
  8. i just wanted to wish @Fan of Big Tone a happy birthday, its really good to be celebrating your day with you. i hope you have a good one.
  9. @Wheelbarrow repair man the only concern i have is losing talented english youngsters to teams like germany. we have more going overseas which brings something different to the team and plenty of very good players coming through premier league teams. championship and league one wise, clubs are looking to by english talent. teams like liverpool though do overlook them and allow their own good prospects to go which is disappointing. it just gives another team the chance to pick them up, we are producing some of the very best players but internationally we are not always the best.
  10. not good enough by scotland, a decent game but they should have asked more questions and tried to be more direct. their fans are very good, their team is not that good. the draw was very lucky, they have two own goals to their name and otherwise nothing.
  11. yes, @Fan of Big Tone the media team have really done well with teasing the signings. i was surprised how quickly fans guessed the right player based on the photo. its a great signing, defensively good and is useful going forward. he makes an excellent addition to the squad, i like how he speaks and that hes quick to get fans behind him. those things will help with him settling into a new club.
  12. i hope the manager was a forest fans, as that time old question of how many forest fans does it take to change a light bulb would be valid.
  13. i hope not! @Piethagoram i have updated the list with the two new additions and removed luther, i thought he was still with us but oh well. still we have five great options in attack. we could potentially sign another winger. then otherwise i think a midfielder would do.
  14. no, i think its only a good thing that the best players are attracted to playing in england. good home-grown players will thrive on this but clubs need to continue to give them a chance. there was a point where a lot of premier league teams did not have many breakthrough stars that were english but this has really turned around. we have plenty coming through and whilst we are doing well on the world stages, this will naturally help more talent to come through.
  15. so pleased with how we are adding defensive strength with the addition of a competitive wing back. this is another excellent addition to the squad, notts are building the excitement very nicely.
  16. i am confident that we have signed a quality keeper, he speaks very well and his previous experience is impressive. its going to be exciting watching the team play, as if we are solid at the back that must give encouragement and some freedom to the players who are attacking.
  17. i am very happy with this signing, he seems very promising and should do well for us i feel.
  18. yes, i think so. i think goalkeeper coaches dont get noticed as much as others but even then its a fair point to highlight the academy ones. they spend so much time nurturing talent. years and years with the same players from a young age until some sign schooler deals or even first year pros. i am thankful the reedtz have invested properly in all of our coaching team.
  19. this is a difficult one because i am failing to recall a memory, i have only seen england on tv but i do want to watch them live at some point. my focus mainly is on notts. i would be interested in seeing a competitive game at wembley with england taking on scotland or even ireland. i am less bothered about germany myself.
  20. he brought success to the england u21s, the squad lacked direction and fight prior to gareth southgates appointment. allowing the england manager to work with the young players, building them up and giving experience to those who are future first team stars was the best decision the english fa have done. it allowed southgate to bring in players who would have gone over looked. the biggest failure team wise is the golden generation. i disagree somewhat about we should have won, i have always felt we have overachieved team wise. it was not long ago that harry kane had no competition for his place. the midfield only had individual stars and not a team. every manager tends to have negative tactics, but southgate is proving himself to be one of the best. he did well with middlesborough too.
  21. the first one would be scary if it was to happen, thankfully firefighters have a safeguard to protect life and have to deal with it. quirky tweets which makes the tories look clueless even more so especially the last one.
  22. aaron nemane is a great player, but we need to make sure he is not over played because i think that causes his inconsistencies because he is tired. i dont think hes as quiet as will randall, but nemane does have spells where he is quiet on the pitch but he always offers something special. without him we would not have gained promotion from the national league. his bursts of pace and direct play can win us games because teams cant defend against his skill. thats a great thing to have.
  23. we dont want to overdo the defenders we sign but this could have been another good signing and one that may have secured the defensive additions notts needed. i am not that bothered we did not sign him, but carlisle securing it says a lot about their ambitions to attract good defenders themselves. i trust notts to ensure we sign the right players, so i dont see this as a major loss. as others have said, we dont know if any talks were held or even if a contract was offered from us.
  24. i liked ed francis, but i thought he did better when he had michael doyles guidance and after doyle left with ian burchnall he seemed to struggle to take his chances. i always felt it he would attract interest from teams higher up, gateshead are a good team for working with players who just need a little more time to get to their best. it would be great to see him stepping up and doing well.
  25. it sounds like a good idea but just like var it needs better handling, the rules on handball needs to be clearer and accidental handball either becomes a thing of the past and every contact is a foul or they work it better in. i think accidental handball is not fair to punish but the rules can make things easier to abide by.
