  1. Happy Birthday to you, @Fan of Big Tone. Have a wonderful birthday.
  2. This is a signing that should excite all fans. He’s an excellent player and someone who has been considered by fans as a realistic target. He has the ability to play at a much higher level; he just needs to settle in and find what works. I believe we will see the best of him at Notts - it’s one hell of a signing.
  3. I don’t get to watch them as often as I would like because I’m busy with work and other things that get in the way of sitting down to watch the games in full. I do watch the highlights on YouTube. I miss some of the tournament games at times, but not many. Notts and the England national team are important to me.
  4. These types of incidents should remain private. I can see it from both sides and understand the keeper’s ambitions, but it comes across as disrespectful to Brentford, who gave him a platform to showcase his ability. He decided to join them and so far, this doesn’t show him in a good light. Brentford would be best to get rid of him and find a new keeper. This situation could be the undoing for all involved. I feel sorry for Brentford; they deserve better.
  5. Kairo Mitchell wasn’t very good. There’s no sugarcoating that he arrived for a fee and left as a freebie. He applied himself, but I always felt he could have done better. He wasn’t the signing I thought the club had made and his release might have signaled an improvement for him. He didn’t show much of anything for Eastleigh on loan. Good luck to him at Rochdale.
  6. It seems like a good move for Jordan Richards. I hope it pays off because he could be playing at a higher level if he had gained the experience needed sooner. Boston should give him the platform to showcase what he’s all about.
  7. I hope Jodi managed to get the shirt signed. It’s a nice souvenir for him and Maddison did a nice gesture by handing it to him.
  8. I’m glad it hasn’t ended yet. There was a brief point early in last season when I wondered if Jim would reflect on retirement at the end of the season, considering how the squad was taking shape and with his contract being up. Being the only surviving player from our relegation squad speaks volumes about him. He worked tirelessly to get the results we needed to stay up and then did the same when it came to trying to gain promotion to the Football League. It’s been interesting, but there’s still at least one more chapter in him. It would be great if we could add another promotion to it.
  9. I’ve just gone through and made sure to follow people. I didn’t realise I didn’t follow the gaffer or even Liam! I should have paid more attention to users’ profiles, but with all the talk being inside the forums until learning you can post in a member’s profile, I just never thought about following people. I had some followed, like Super Ram etc. I must have thought I followed others at some point but hadn’t.
  10. Yes, her work with dementia has been important and her grandfather’s condition is touching. It’s awful when it affects people’s lives beyond just the one person. It’s like seeing the person die on the inside while still alive, taking every bit of whom the person is and what makes them special to the point they don’t know you and you see how badly things have changed.
  11. It was very one-sided, with little means for Malta to even cause any sort of trouble. I have seen Malta play Italy, who gave them more time on the ball, and it’s because of this that I feel disappointed having hoped Malta would perform better. For the sake of Jodi Jones, I wished they had given him more opportunity, but it simply didn’t come.
  12. Has anyone seen him play? Liverpool to Kidderminster Harriers is a long way down, but Lee Hughes left West Brom for them and became a good player in time. If we can salvage his career and make use of him, he could be useful. I remember him being a winger in our youth team; can he play elsewhere?
  13. Regular members might not see it, but I do. @super_ram is always trying to get us to talk and encourages the good side of being a community. I value his membership here. He gives us an outside perspective which has been mentioned, I know. Although, I would add that it’s clear Super feels comfortable with us, and he has shown an interest in the team. I think we can take for granted what others do. I know the Gaffer is always trying to praise and give credit out when it’s due, but I feel we have neglected to give Super Ram his turn. I wouldn’t like to see PON in a state of repair and buggy, so thank you for helping, Super Ram! We do appreciate what you do.
  14. Yes, I also had to log in again, which I have never had to do before. I just save my session and come back when I use PON. It’s no issue, but as @liampie said, if it makes you aware of it, at least you then know.
  15. Jim O’Brien is a key player for Notts County, there’s no doubt about it. Some fans may think he’s past it because they’re moody, but it takes a great level of fitness and skill to keep going. Michael Doyle’s legs had gone the moment he arrived, but he was worshipped and I can’t understand why it isn’t the same for Jim. He’s by far the better player. I think if we had him from the beginning of the season we wouldn’t have been relegated. Yet, he fought for us in those four years when we were non-league and he’s helped to take us back. We can credit every squad player or just our favourites, but I for one will credit Jim’s loyalty and dedication to our club. He is a fantastic squad player and I look forward to seeing him in the upcoming season.
  16. The ground I am most looking forward to going to is a very traditional ground, much like ours, and the history of it is interesting. It’s sad too, with the fire that happened, but Valley Parade is where I am most looking forward to. Most friendly? Walsall hands down. Great pubs nearby? Tranmere Rovers. Good food? I don’t think it exists; I don’t eat at grounds themselves. I eat before, but Newport has some good chip shops. Stockport County is the easiest ground for me to make, what with me living in Manchester. It’s very easy to get there from the city centre.
  17. The Skipper has signed on for two years, which is fantastic. Cameron has improved the club in big strides; as captain, I don’t think we could ask for anyone better. He leads by example and just works tirelessly. I am pleased the defence will mostly be the same as last season; going into games with those existing partnerships and communication will only be a blessing.
  18. I have no interest or time for cricket; it’s just that I have never really gotten into it. I find it quite prolonged and dull, even when the England cricket team is good, I don’t pay attention. It’s just one of those sports I find difficult to invest in. I would rather watch baseball, which says a lot. I understand why others may enjoy it, but personally, I have never been around the sport and when I have been, it doesn’t retain my attention.
  19. It’s brilliant news that the skipper has signed on; I was getting concerned that I might have to go back to Neal Bishop or find a different user image. Not that Bish is a bad thing; he’s still my favourite captain, but out of support, I changed to Kyle. He’s a good player; he just needs to learn not to be caught out.
  20. Hello, Tony. I noticed that you had added Twitter to your profile. Just to let you know, I have corrected it for you. You just need the @ or username to be added. :)

    It's my pleasure to help.

  21. I don’t know; Stevenage is okay, but there’s not much to the player that I know, so it’s hard to form an opinion. Besides, he’s signed a new deal for them now.
  22. The CEO role is very important; I would imagine the Reedtz have spoken to a few names already but have wanted to give grieving time with the loss of Jason Turner. I would be surprised if we don’t hear of news within a few weeks, what with things starting to progress.
  23. It does feel like a dream; then again, the past two ownerships felt like a nightmare. It’s been a good 4 years; we have turned things around and it’s down to all the hard work people have put in from the players to the staff and coaches. Even the fans deserve credit because we didn’t allow the club to do it alone.
  24. Hello, @rhodship66. Welcome to the club and the Pride of Nottingham. By club, I mean this crazy gang.
  25. There are some fantastic times supporting Notts, even the dark times make us thankful for the club we have. Tony’s story is interesting and serves as a reminder of how diverse our fan base is in terms of the memories we all have and what encourages us to move forward. This is brilliant, thanks Tony! Will it be another Tony next time, gaffer?
