  1. If Notts mixed the play up, kept the ball on the floor at the right times and in the air when time is needed to be wasted. Notts could pick up a win, the players seem to be lacking confidence right now. Picking up a win on the road, especially after the Chesterfield game would be rewarding.
  2. A wins, a win. Concerned about Jim O'Brien and Sam Slocombe, we need these fit. The win is good though, I am sure it will give the team some morale.
  3. If Notts don't start off well, I think the tension from the support could make the game more awkward. I don't know what to expect from the game, on paper it should be a home win. It all depends on the performance and fight given by the Notts players.
  4. Issue right now is the lack of consequence for poor performances. Even when Notts won previous games, there are known offenders who have failed to give anywhere near 60% and have had to rely on others around them to lift their game. It's a poor result, but I do think we have to accept it. I just want to see Notts perform more consistently when there is pressure on the club.
  5. I'm not sure, I fear a bit of a set back during the winter months. I can see this game being called off due to the weather and floods, with a stockpile of games forming. I hope I am wrong.
  6. If he plays like he does consistently since his last return, he should be the first name on the team sheet. Come the end of the season, we will know just how important him regularly featuring will be. I honestly feel he's the difference between promotion this year mostly due to his experience and leadership skills.
  7. Great pictures @Chris, some cracking ones in the gallery!
  8. It was a good game no doubt about that. Torquay wasn't bad, Notts played good football and we are looking more like league contenders now. If the results keep coming at home, with improvements being made away from it, this season could really start. Great result, the cleansheets right now are massive.
  9. If I wasn't working, I would be there! Dover looks to be a great away day, I just hope Notts continues to reward the loyal support
  10. I hope the players perform, it's been touted as pay back for our support and this means Notts needs to put on a good display. Losing badly wouldn't be a good way to say thank you. So, DO IT NOTTS! Let's do it right for once.
  11. Unless a team is winning every week, they become predictable and their position is then tangible. Every manager at this level has something annoying about them. Neal Ardley is far from perfect, yet he had been dealt a bad hand and it does take time to fix. He seems to know what the issues are. Previous managers like John Sheridan, Kevin Nolan etc all spoke about strengthening the wrong areas. Ardley has signed to strengthen, it might have upset some that Matt Tootle is being frozen out. We have to trust Ardley to do right by the club. Right now, it's nonsense to be calling for the managers head.
  12. I don't expect Notts to lose, the performance have been steady but getting anything other than a draw would show how the club is on the up right now. A boring draw might follow but some should be happy with that.
  13. Bromley will want to hold the ball with their midfield, then move it into the channels. I do worry about set pieces as they have a couple of good players who deliver excellent balls into the box. One clinical striker too.
  14. A fear a defeat will cause upset within our support and start to make those fans who already want Ardley's head even louder. They're a good side, this is their level and Notts has to respect that. I think too much focus is being put on the players to win pretty, I would expect ugly if it means they are working as a team. That is what Notts needs to do in these games that cannot be controlled by playing impressive football.
  15. Notts will have to win the midfield battle and work hard to create good chances. Confidence will never high after the 5-1 win but this is a tougher task. I can see Notts winning 1 or 2-0
  16. First half Notts struggled to suss them out. After conceding, I felt worried that Notts was about to be outclassed and hammered by a good team wanting to send a message to other teams in this league. They lifted their performance and played well, credit is there but they fell short in the defence. In the second half, the game was class from both sides perspective and I feel the final result is somewhat unfair but duly deserved simply because we pressured them correctly. Good chances, much better finishing. It's that simple.
  17. They appear to be very organised, pretty scrappy side on the ball though. I think it will be a draw myself.
  18. Michael Doyle isn't at his peak, he's overrated and past it now. I can't stand the guys ego, I think he's nothing more than a part player at this stage. I would give the armband to Mitch Rose myself, I think he would lead by example and try to mentor the players around him positively.
  19. I believe the first 8 games will show if this squad is capable of bouncing back at the first attempt, Eastleigh are nothing more than a typical good team in this league. Nothing flash, they just work well together. I hope the quality brought into the club is enough to generate a spark from the opening games. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect fireworks but getting off to some sort of bang would settle the teams nerves. I don't fear relegation, I think a good vibe will flow this season. I can see the game ending up as a draw, unless we hammer them.
  20. If they don't play, they don't learn or gain experience. If the easiest answer is to say youth players are "no better" or about what the club has already, then sitting them on the bench or in the stands won't change anything. It makes the academy quite pointless! It's important that promising youth players have a clear path into the first-team and has the managers full support.
  21. Top pictures! Great effort by the PON gaffer with all that he has had to contend with.

Very good picture @Chris, you've captured the day well. A bad result but fans can be proud for their fantastic support.
  25. Just win for the pride, keep the hope alive for the last game of the season. It's history on the line and survival.
