The atmosphere around Meadow Lane since the Notts County takeover has shown just how much fans wanted change, whilst the hope has remained in many prior to this – there is something refreshing about the club having found a ‘new hope’. After the dismissal of John Sheridan, I was probably in the minority camp that was disappointed to see the departure of the 12th manager at the helm of the Magpies since we gained promotion to League One in 2010. Yet the appointment of Kevin Nolan may notUpdated by Joe Jones

To usher in the Alan Hardy era I thought I'd start a new piece that will be a fortnightly ramble about all things football and also some things slightly away from football with the focus being on what effect this has or could have on Notts County. This week I will be starting with the January transfer window. The two transfer window periods only favour the teams paying the biggest wages - they can attract the better players at the start of the season, leaving very little, low-lying fruUpdated by Joe Jones

Ah well, back to square one as Jamie Fullarton's first home game in charge of Notts ends in a very disappointing 2–0 defeat to Wimbledon. Transfer deadline day leads to frantic deals and intense negotiations. At Meadow Lane, Stuart Maynard's calm leadership created a strong sense of control. Notts County approached this window with clarity, ensuring their squad was balanced and well-prepared for the crucial months ahead. With the window now shut, Maynard took the time to reflect on the club’s business, the squad’s depth, and what lies ahead as Notts push towards their ultimate goal. This week, Notts County secured the signing of striker Kyle Wootton from Scunthorpe United having impressed during his loan spell at Meadow Lane this season. The striker signed a two and a half year deal with the fee rumoured to be around £60,000. Many Notts fans were delighted when the news emerged that the 23-year-old was signing on a permanent deal having been subject to much speculation during the Christmas period and the opening of the January transfer window. But just how impressUpdated by PON_News

So, what can be said about the once voted 'most stressful club' some years ago? Well, the last few years have brought us relegation battles, false promises from rich owners, and more managers than Betty has made hot pots. It's been a season so far of ifs and buts, hasn't it? It certainly has for me. What if Ricardo Moniz was given sole responsibility for player recruitment? What if he was allowed to choose his own backroom team? What if Izale McLeod was given a strike partAdded by Alex West

What a contrast to our previous regimes. For all his rights and wrongs – and I think there were more rights over his tenure – Ray Trew found it difficult to stay away from social media and club message boards, often falling into the trap of over promising some new signing. He also seemed pretty keen to hit the fire button as the revolving door rarely slowed down on the manager’s office. Then, of course, we had the ego which took the club out of the league and almost out of existenUpdated by PON_News

As the weekend’s game against Luton Town quickly approaches, Pride of Nottingham felt it would be a good idea to get the views from within our own camp ahead of the match. Notts-Joe has taken the time to put several questions to Jaymee Comrie, a loyal Notts fan and follower of PON. Here’s what he had to say to the following six questions. You Pies!! How do you feel the season has gone so far and which players have made a difference for Notts? Before this season begun I haAdded by Chris

On the back of three very disappointing campaigns in a row as a Notts County fan, I find myself aligned with new hope and prospect for the new season – however, I must admit I didn’t believe I would be at this stage. 2015-16 was a year the majority of fans will no doubt want to forget and it’s all for the right (or should that be wrong) reasons. The broken ambition and desire shown really tugged at the heartstrings of many genuine supporters I know, and it was difficult at times to conUpdated by Joe Jones

May was a month full of joy and satisfaction for Juventus. Starting with the victory against AS Monaco in the Champions League semi-finals, Juve then beat Lazio in the Coppa Italia final, thanks to goals from Leonardo Bonucci and Dani Alves. At the Juventus Stadium, which will be named the "Allianz Stadium" from July due to a sponsorship deal, we celebrated the sixth consecutive league, the thirty-fifth of Juventus' history. After these victories we had a dream to crown: the Treble.Updated by Joe Jones

The draw for the second round of the FA Cup has given Notts a home game against Oxford City, who play in the National League North. At first glance, it might seem like the Magpies have escaped the worst of the potential opponents, with the likes of Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers also in the hat (not to mention Scunthorpe United - part of me was thinking "we're gonna get them away aren't we?") But in truth, a non-league outfit from two divisions below Notts County whose confidenceAdded by Joe Jones

Fans were divided when Kevin Nolan was sacked as Notts County manager. Many fans believed he should have been given more time to turn things around at the club following a winless run of 6 games with many saying it is the players to blame as opposed to Nolan himself. But there were also fans suggesting it wasn't just the start of the season that was the tipping point it has been the clubs poor run of results since Christmas. Where do you start with a review of Doyle's Notts career thus far? A man who was well known to us for being a thorn in our side in recent years as a player at Portsmouth and Coventry, both of which we he forged successful promotions, an outstanding achievement by any professional's standards. We know from first hand experience that he is a player the opposition fans love to hate, which in truth is a huge compliment to the man. His tough approach to the game and ability to wind the oppositioUpdated by PON_News

For any football fan who's seen their team get relegated, one positive once you've got over the initial shock is to think about all the new grounds you can visit. And with Notts having previously never dropped down to non-league in their 157-year history, all these non-league grounds seemed like an exotic novelty to a Notts fan who travels home and away each week. So having completed half a season in the non-league wilderness, let's take a look back on the highs and lows of a non league away dayUpdated by PON_News

Here I go again, with a look at the upcoming games in League Two. Again I've highlighted a few games I think are important, although every game is important in one way or another. I've made Luton v Notts my key game. *Important Game ** Key Game Saturday 30th January 2016 *Accrington v Bristol Rovers – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-2) Wimbledon v Yeovil – Kick Off 3:00pm – Score Prediction (2-0)Updated by Chris

A lot of Notts fans, myself included, were celebrating when Alan Hardy became the club's new owner, finally putting an end to the Ray Trew era, and there was a weekend of relative joy when the losing run was snuffed out at the 11th attempt with a face-saving goalless draw against local rivals Mansfield Town. However, the harsh reality are that the Magpies are still in very deep trouble. After 27 League Two games played, we're 23rd in the table, on 23 points. With Notts County piling up with fixtures back in December, the club managed to pick up 10 points from a possible 12; it highlights how beneficial mixing up what was becoming a stale squad can be. The previous month as we all know, Notts struggled to pick up points and fans including our very own Chris and ARLukomski called for the introduction of fringe players. Tom Crawford who hadn't appeared for Notts since the away defeat in 2018/19 to Mansfield, has managed to be called upon andUpdated by Chris

As Notts are going on a European tour in a couple of weeks, I've put together some information for travelling fans (or anyone else who's interested). Happy reading! SV Darmstadt 98 The “Lilien” currently play in Bundesliga 2 but have been up and down the leagues a lot in recent seasons. After being reprieved from relegation to the fourth-level Regionalliga at the end of the 2012/13 season, they embarked on an improbable success story, with two consecutive promotions taking them to the BundesligaUpdated by DangerousSausage

Jorge Grant's long-term future has now been decided, and the 22-year-old has decided to stay put at Nottingham Forest. There goes the slender hope we had of potentially signing our undisputed loan star last season. In hindsight, it was a no-brainer for Forest to offer him a contract and, with the club in the Championship and under new ownership, Grant cannot be faulted for staying put - not to mention it's the club where he came through the ranks, so he'll of course be wanting to win himselUpdated by Joe Jones

So it's set in stone - Jorge Grant had signed a new three-year deal at Nottingham Forest. Naturally I was pretty gutted - for weeks I had been hoping that maybe, just maybe, the Reds would have thought "nah, we don't really need him - let's just let him go". And then Grant would have opted to remain in Nottingham and signed for Notts County, and we could have celebrated a pretty spectacular coup from Alan Hardy and Kevin Nolan. But let's be realistic for a moment. Why would Forest deciUpdated by Joe Jones

Approaching today's game against Swindon Town, Kevin Nolan has said that Jonathan Forte will start up front due to the injury suffered by Shola Ameobi. Forte offers something different in attack compared to Jon Stead and Ameobi. He is easily our fastest striker and at the minute our most prolific with two league goals, coming against Wycombe and Morecambe, and one in the Checkatrade Trophy against Everton. Pace up front is important in any league, especially in League Two. It can makeUpdated by Joe Jones
