It feels like the end of an era with the departure of Macaulay Langstaff. When he arrived, many fans were unsure of what to expect - myself included. Bringing in two players from Gateshead who had scored over 40 goals between them, it seemed like a dream come true. Eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the new duo, I remember feeling impressed by them in the friendly against Alfreton Town. Who would have known that Langstaff would go on to score over 42 goals, grabbing headlines alongside ErliAdded by Chris

The start of the new EFL season is but a few days away - 72 teams playing 46 fixtures each in the Championship, League One and League Two, plus a load of cup games to boot. It'll be a slog, a marathon, and all sorts of emotions will be flying round the country as some teams hit the jackpot and others hit the mud. In this piece, Pride of Nottingham gives its predictions on who is expected to impress in League Two, from the automatic promotion candidates to the playoff hopefuls, as well as thAdded by Joe Jones

So, Notts County have been drawn away to Brentford in the third round of the FA Cup. Whilst the draw might not be all that glamourous for either side, both teams must surely be fancying their chances in progressing to the fourth round. Personally I think the tie is quite ideal for that reason, and I would hope that we can forge some sort of run that might perhaps see us replicate what Jon Stead did at Bradford City and of course Terry Hawkridge at Lincoln City. It perhaps would haUpdated by Joe Jones

July 2022 and it was a chance to look at Notts’ array on new signings for the first time with a short journey to Basford. Yes, it was against a side which had struggled 2 divisions below Notts the previous season, but there were some hugely positive outcomes from this first run out. As supporters, we all want new faces to excite us, that marquee signing which sells a few extra season tickets for those sitting on the fence, but Notts have moved on from the fanfares and Hollywood glamourUpdated by Chris

Notts have made no secret of their ambition to improve on last season’s mid-table finish and push for promotion this season. Finishing in the play-offs seems a very realistic target. However, it’s not going to be easy. Several clubs have similar aims and have recruited well in the hope of securing a place in League 1 come the end of the 2024/25 season. This isn’t a prediction as such but rather an analysis of the teams that have recruited well and will be hoping to push for promotion this comingAdded by menzinho

During the end of June and during all July, Juve focused on strengthening the squad in the transfer market. Some of our boys have been sold: Romagna, Cerri, Pasquato, Leali, Cassata. After the bad defeat in the Champions League final, Juve's goal was to get to that stage again as soon as possible. Beppe Marotta, the Juventus CEO, has signed Douglas Costa on loan for €6m from Bayern Munich, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny as Gianluigi Buffon's deputy for €12m, Mattia De Sciglio as a replacUpdated by Joe Jones

We have some very winnable fixtures coming up against a Newport County side fresh off a cup run and a 5-0 dismantling at the hands of Mansfield Town. We play a Cambridge United side who are in a period of transition after a change in ownership and the resignation of Shaun Derry. We also have a home game against Stevenage to finish off the month, in which Boro have one of the worst away records in the division. We then face trips to Cheltenham Town and Forest Green, but after that the run-inUpdated by Joe Jones

So the time has come once again to look forward to a heated derby between Notts County and Mansfield Town, their biggest rivals in the division. As with all derbies, the two league fixtures between rivals will tend to stand out in any given season - even a poor campaign for a team can retain some pride if they have claimed good results over their rivals. The 2015-16 season will go down as one of County's most miserable in history - high expectations quickly turned to relegation worriesAdded by Joe Jones

1st. Milton Keynes Dons When Mike Williamson was appointed in October to replace Graham Alexander, MK Dons were faltering. Sitting 16th in the table with a squad capable of far better, they were underachieving beyond belief. The former Gateshead boss came in and turned it around, implementing his quick, possession-based style that is synonymous with what MK Dons look for when appointing a new coach. Nineteen wins from his 33 league games propelled MK Dons into the promotion picture, bUpdated by CliftonMagpie

Alan Hardy has recently described what he is doing - and continuing to do - at Notts County as a "revolution". Given how the last 11 months or so have panned out, you wouldn't argue against it. This time last year, Notts were in the middle of a truly horrendous losing run which would go on to span 10 matches, and the atmosphere at Meadow Lane was understandably so toxic that Chernobyl would have felt like a spa weekend in comparison. And indeed, Hardy has done the conventional things rUpdated by Joe Jones

When Jamie Fullarton was relieved of his duties, the vast, vast majority of Notts County fans breathed a huge sigh of relief. It wasn’t just the fact he was not deemed adequate for the job by probably 99% of supporters (no experience, no prior connection to the club like Shaun Derry or Chris Kiwomya, former Nottingham Forest man), or that he presided over a run of games that saw Notts drop from potential playoff long-shots to possible relegation candidates. It was also how Stanley AborUpdated by super_ram

Going into the local derby game against Mansfield, I had stated on the Pride of Nottingham community and to various fans when talking – Notts needed to go aiming to prove a point. What actually happened, however, was just more disappointment against our big rivals in the division. It’s easy enough to write off a defeat, yet things had been building quite nicely and I hope the postponed game against Morecambe and the EFL Trophy loss Rochdale don't become basis for any excuses. So after what seemed like a good Christmas period, it seems that Notts County have gone into switch off mode ever since. We set off the year with a positive result against Port Vale winning 1-0 at home. We then went on to proceed to the 4th round of the FA Cup against Swansea City after a sublime strike from Jon Stead against Brentford put us into the pot for the next round. With morale seeming to be at an all time high at Meadow Lane and coming into the new year with bags of confidencUpdated by Joe Jones

The spirit shown by the Notts County squad against Colchester United was very impressive – from the kick off our team looked interested and keen to get a result. Whilst there was still some concern with the defence for me, for the most part we looked the better outfit. I do however have one gripe with Adam Campbell, who simply allowed the game to pass him by. In recent weeks I had been calling for him to be given a chance, and prior to Saturday I felt that he may be suffering from a laUpdated by Joe Jones

We've made a lot of signings this week. Six, to be precise. And now Notts have stepped up their recruitment drive, the question on everyone's lips is, how are we going to line up against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday? There may be some difference in opinions in the formation that we use throughout the season, but I'm going to stick with 4-4-2 as we used that nearly all of the time last season when Nolan took over. Starting in goal. Adam Collin seems like the obvious choi

After a multi-record-breaking (record-shattering?!) season which will hopefully end with a promotion, what would I want our squad to look like next season? With so many great performances and stability running through the club, it's no surprise that I'd want to keep the core of the current squad, but there may be one or two of my suggestions which divide opinion. The easy ones – Macaulay Langstaff, Cedwyn Scott and Sam Austin. Three summer signings who made the move up after being nameAdded by Simon Clark

I must admit, it's a strange feeling to be sitting here and having virtually no issues with my beloved Notts County at present. Everything is going pretty much hunky dory and I have no complaints about how things are going at the club. It's very pleasant and refreshing to be in a state of no anxiety and worries after years of putting up with hell. From mid-2013 until early 2017, supporting Notts was difficult. In the beginning anyway. It then became little short of torture, with the occasioUpdated by Joe Jones

Prior to this past Tuesday’s game against Carlisle United at Meadow Lane, Kevin Nolan spoke about how there was ‘no mini crisis' happening at Meadow Lane. At a glance, it does seem that the two home game defeats against Crawley Town and Exeter City could be labelled down to a mistake in switching from a successful formation, whereby the tactics truly did work well with our system. However, the post-match interview did leave some questions when Nolan himself ranted about ‘the players doUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County's season has finally come to an end, two weeks after the regular campaign was wrapped up. The fact we managed to extend the season by making the playoffs is obviously a sign that we have been heading in the right direction, and on the positive side it is nice to have been anxious about things in the top half of the table instead of the bottom like we had been for the previous four seasons. And of course, just the fact that we lost to Coventry City over two legs is no disgrUpdated by Joe Jones

I, like many Notts County fans, went to Coventry feeling very optimistic. The majority of supporters whom I spoke to said we they would take a point – something I strongly agreed with. I felt our hopes mainly relied upon our players being eager to start well, or perhaps the Sky Blues underestimating us. For the first 15 minutes I would say we played quite upbeat, however every time Coventry attacked they broke with so much space available to them. Notts seemed jagged and very uncoUpdated by Joe Jones

Anyone who enjoys the traditional, historic side of football will have been dismayed at how Notts County, the world's oldest Football League club, has come so close to losing that status in recent years. The Magpies have found themselves dwelling dangerously close to falling into the non-league over the last few seasons, although their impressive campaign in 2017-18 would have surely meant that there was going to be some form of comeback on the cards. One thing that isn’t helping NottsAdded by PON_News

Despite having to reflect on the Forest Green Rovers game quite early, I wanted to take time to reflect on the game – which like most Notts fans I wasn’t very impressed with. There’s no denying that we have had a great start to the season, and along with Kevin Nolan picking up the League Two Manager of the Month award for September it really does highlight the amazing progress we have made so far. However, it's not been nice seeing us struggle to a side that is at the foot of the tableUpdated by Joe Jones
