Allen’s ties to Notts County remain a significant chapter in his managerial career.

Appointed in April 2011, he played a vital role in helping the club stave off relegation in League One that season, even earning the League One Manager of the Month award in September 2011 for his team’s stellar performances. Though his tenure ended in February 2012, his impact is fondly remembered by fans.

Known for his fiery passion and straightforward style, "Mad Dog" Martin Allen also had a notable playing career, racking up 376 appearances and 45 goals for clubs including Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United, Portsmouth, and Southend United.

His managerial journey has taken him across English football, with stints at clubs such as Brentford, Gillingham, and Chesterfield, but his time at Meadow Lane holds a special place in Magpie hearts.

The evening doesn’t stop at the podcast – fans will also get the opportunity to ask Martin their burning questions during a live Q&A session. Whether it’s about his time at Notts, his views on football, or tales from his extensive career, no topic is off-limits!

Martin Allen is such a character. I’ve followed his career since his days at West Ham, but his stint at Notts County was special. The way he galvanised the team to avoid relegation in 2011 was impressive, and his honest approach to football management is refreshing. This event promises to be a real treat, count me in!

Will the event be live-streamed or uploaded to YouTube afterward? I won't be able to attend because of my age, but I would like to rewatch it.

I won't be able to attend in person myself, but will watch the podcast because I think the discussions will be lively & informative.

I will mark my calendar for the 6th December & will be looking forward to it

I’ve always admired Martin Allen’s style, both as a player and a manager. His time at Notts County was full of passion, and although it was a short stint, he left a lasting impression on fans. Winning Manager of the Month in 2011 showed the potential of what he could achieve with the squad.

This live podcast idea is fantastic. It’s not often you get the chance to hear directly from someone who’s lived the highs and lows of football management. I’m especially looking forward to the Q&A – knowing Martin, he’ll have some hilarious and honest answers.

Martin Allen was a good manager with many funny moments during his time at Notts. I will be interested in the live podcast event for sure. I will have to check my diary and make plans to stay at my folks' place. When Allen tells stories, you can guarantee that he will have some very funny ones. Some fans thought his character was just an act to distract, but he's actually a very amusing person. So, I will enjoy looking back on the earlier years of my Notts support.

i probably would not be going but i would check in on the podcast if a recorded version is released, i would imagine it would come out for those unable to attend. i think £10, well £11 with the admin fee is a fair price. it should prove to be popular, well done to the magpie circle.

This event is perfect for any football fan, especially those who followed Notts County during Martin Allen’s tenure. He’s a unique figure, fiery, passionate, and always entertaining. His post-match interviews were memorable, and he brought energy to the team during tough times. The podcast format will suit his storytelling style, and the Q&A will add a personal touch. Having it at the Big Shed is a brilliant idea; the atmosphere will be amazing. I think it will be a great event. Shame I can't make it!

This event is exactly what fans need! Martin Allen has always been an open and honest personality in football, and his time at Notts County, though brief, was unforgettable. The live podcast format with a Q&A is such a great way to engage with the fans, and I can already imagine the amazing stories he’ll share from his playing and managerial days. £10 is a fair price for an evening like this, and the Big Shed at Trent Navigation sounds like the perfect venue. I’ll be telling all my mates about this, the more, the merrier!
