Kevin Nolan has revealed that Notts County are in discussions with players over joining the club, providing they “can affect the group in the right way”.

A centre-back and a central midfielder are thought to be top of the wanted list as the Magpies seek to overcome the difficult start to their season.

“There is no movement as yet, but we have spoken to a number of players who are out of contract,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.

“We’ve spoken to a number of clubs too.

“There are a lot of young boys in the group and some big personalities have gone from last season.

“It’s got to be somebody who affects the group in the right way.

“We’ve got interest in a couple of people, but it won’t be done unless the boss signs it off and then we can move forward.”
