Kevin Nolan has provided an update on Shola Ameobi, revealing that the Notts County striker is touch and go in terms of his availability ahead of Saturday's League Two meeting with Luton Town.
The veteran marksman sat out Saturdayβs 3-2 win over Oxford City in the second round of the FA Cup with a suspected groin injury.
Nolan insists that Ameobi is doing well but, due to having potentially aggravated a previous injury, the club's medical team are being cautious with him as they don't want to lose him for a long time.
βSholaβs okay, but we have to wrap him up in cotton wool,β the County boss told the Nottingham post. βHe tweaked a bit of a previous injury so we are just being careful and cautious.
βWe donβt want to lose him for more than one game. If itβs one then we will have to deal with that, but we donβt want him missing four, five or six weeks.
βHe is a massive part of what we are doing going forwards.β
