Kevin Nolan has expressed his relief with Notts County clawing out a 4-2 win at Wycombe Wanderers after being pegged back from a two-goal lead.

A Richard Duffy header and an Adam El Abd own goal saw the Magpies head into the Adams Park dressing rooms at the break in an advantageous position.

However, the Chairboys hit back through Nick Freeman and Joe Jacobson, only for Jonathan Forte and Lewis Alessandra to restore County's two-goal lead late on.

β€œRelief is a big word because Gareth (Ainsworth, Wycombe boss) set his team up to come at us in the second half,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.

β€œWe had deservedly taken in a half-time lead and I had said to the lads don’t go away from what you’re doing.

β€œI feel that we did and we just started taking an extra touch on the ball. We were getting caught in possession and weren’t really putting it in the right areas.

β€œThat allowed them to get back into the game, but I had a pop at the linesman, for which I apologised after, because I felt there was an offside in the build-up to their second goal.

β€œBut overall to get the winning goals from the substitutes was fantastic.”
