Matt Tootle: 'Notts County will be successful next season'

Joe Jones

New Notts County signing Matt Tootle has claimed that the Magpies will have a successful season in 2016-17, and that factor was crucial in his choice of club.

The 25-year-old defender, who played for Crewe Alexandra and Shrewsbury Town, pens a two-year deal at Meadow Lane.

He told the official website: "I'm delighted to get (the deal) over the line. It is a massive club - as soon as I heard Notts County were interested.

"I wanted to come to a club I felt would be successful next year. It is a big club and from what I can see, everything that's happening at the club says it's going to be successful next season."
