Match Report: Jatta’s Goal the Difference as Notts County Edge Harrogate at Meadow Lane

It was a brilliant performance from beginning to end by the whole Notts team on Saturday.

From the defence, through the midfield to the attacking players it was a five star display for me.

Notts deserved much more than the one goal, but when the team is solid at the back as Notts are these days they only needed the one.

As Stuart Maynard stated, Jatta could easily have had a hat trick & he was particularly pleased with the performances of Brown & Martin who both played from the start.

The only concern after such a good result is the number of injuries, however the squad players stepped up to the plate & that's encouraging.

On to the FA Cup game against Alfreton. I expect some changes for that game.

it was a tough game, but we pushed for the goal and some of the other chances on a different day might have gone in. jatta's celebration was great to see, he controlled it very well.

Our defence was brilliant, not many teams can keep a clean sheet like that, especially under pressure at the end.

Yesterday was a good display of how far Notts has come. We held onto the ball well, played with confidence, and didn’t let Harrogate frustrate us. Jatta’s goal was the result of the team’s hard work, as we kept at them until the breakthrough came. The last few minutes were a bit tense, but our defence held up nicely and didn’t give them any easy chances. If we keep this up, we’ll definitely make an impression this season. Great to see the fans showing strong support, too!

It was a great result, as teams are now trying to either play our style of football or go very defensive. This makes it hard to create chances, but I thought the performance was good. No one would be saying otherwise if a few more of our efforts had been closer to goals. In the long run, the win is what really matters.

We played very well, even though we only won 1-0, and Harrogate worked hard to limit our chances. It was a great moment when we scored a brilliant team goal, thanks to Tsaroulla and Jatta. I found the match entertaining, and Harrogate clearly weren't going to settle for a draw or a loss, so fair play to them as well. Nick Tsaroulla performed exceptionally well.

It's a pleasing result, and it shows the difference between this season's team and last season's. We have an edge now that helps us see out games without getting flustered or panicking when we don’t have the ball. Also, credit to Stuart Maynard, who might have been tempted to make changes to improve our attack but chose to keep the momentum we had built. I felt a goal was coming, so I didn't think much needed to change.

Aside from a few moans and groans, I don't see why some fans weren't happy about that. You might say we could have been more clinical in front of goal, but the performance was good enough to deserve the win.

There are no easy games in this league. Notts had to work hard against a team set up to defend. Harrogate could have equalised when Hinchy allowed himself to be dispossessed in midfield in the last minutes of normal time
