This was a good away performance by Notts.

The Fulham side contained two greats, Bobby Moore and George Best, a little past their best, but even so, they were both two of the best the UK has produced.

For Notts we had 3 great players for Notts featuring here, Steve Carter, Ian Scanlon & Mick Vinter, so sad that Mick is no longer with us.

All three were prolific goal scorers for Notts Ian Scanlon 31 goals, Mick Vinter 54, & Steve Carter 21.

this seems like a great achievement to have seen live, i suspect we were the underdogs and that fans were surprised that we won by so many goals. it seems jimmy had something very special with the players that lifted them for certain big games.

Very good result for Notts back in the day, Fulham were a very good team back then (at least I have been told).

Any 5 goal win should come as a surprise as either the team played were incredibly poor, or everything went in their favour. To beat Fulham especially at their ground is worth noting.

Was there a stand referred to as a cow shed? I could have got this from @super_ramΒ when he's spoken about Fulham. Or, totally confused.

@ChrisΒ there was a stand at Fulham known as the "Rabbit Hutch" and I think away supporters described another stand as the "Cow Shed", but the Cow Shed may have belonged to another club

Just looked on Google and a roof over a stand at Prenton Park, the home of Tranmere Rovers, was referred to as the "Cowshed"

I don't recall a stand called the cowshed.I do remember ,at school,a classroom know as 'the cowshed' and another 'the Pig sty'

Fulham had one of the best passers I've ever seen,Johnny Haynes.coming towards the end of his career too.
