Carabao Cup. Is it time for Change?

Featured Replies

The Carabao Cup (League Cup) used to be a Cup competition that was worth winning, but many teams now, especially in the  early rounds, field weakened teams such as squad players or B team players.

Is it time that the Carabao Cup format was changed?

For example, those teams that qualify for Europe could be excluded & clubs from the National League could be included.

By excluding those clubs playing in Europe, the competition would be equalled out somewhat, & including National league sides would give much needed revenue to those clubs in that league.

Interest in the competition has waned so much that even supporters don't care much if their team is beaten in the early rounds.

Does anyone have an alternative solution?

Even the FA Cup is losing its charm. Once the lower teams are out, my interest drops. I think the League Cup could have a chance to change things up, but it shouldn't mean more games.

i dont changes tend to ruin football, the champions and europa league feels stale and the same as each other. then theres the nations league which is boring. i have no ideas or suggestions about the league cup.

I'm in agreement with, @liampie. I hate many of the needless changes; if the League Cup is revamped it wouldn't be of the focus of making it exciting. It would solely be down to how much money it could generate and this is the wrong approach.
