What would your starting line-up be? What will be the key areas for the Magpies to get a victory? What do you think the final score will be?

.

I would like to see Martin Paterson play the match day squad that played so poorly in the Brackley match.

The players have a lot of making up to do with Martin & the fan base. The fixture against Man Utd under 21s in normal circumstances could be described as being meaningless, but the Brackley result has changed all that.

I would like to see a Notts side that is up for it & showing plenty of positivity. I would like them to believe they are playing top of League 2 Walsall & are prepared to run their socks off to get the right result for the club & fans.

It doesn't matter if Martin starts the game with the fringe players or not. The attitude of the players has to be positive, upbeat & ready to give their all. The players should know that they are all playing for a place against Cheltenham a week on Monday.

The Notts team to face Man Utd U21s tonight.

I would have liked to see a stronger line up.

I see there is a Szczęsny on the bench tonight for Notts

That's not Wojciech Szczęsny, the Polish international goalkeeper who plays for Barcelona is it?

People on social are saying he's an under 18 player., not an emergency goalkeeper loan. Well it was a nice dream while it lasted.

Update.

16 - Traore runs the channel well before laying the ball off for Kouhyar, whose curling effort draws a decent save from Murdock.

Mark Stallard: 'I don't think Martin Paterson will be pleased with that. They were obviously more technical, but the disappointing thing is that they wanted it more than Notts.'

The fringe players were given the opportunity by Martin Paterson to stake a claim for a starting eleven place, but I don't think that anyone in the Black & White did that tonight.

2 poor games in a row. There was a distinct lack of desire tonight. I expect it will be a different story next Saturday.

Well that’s two cups we’re out of in the space of a few days, to be honest I’m not too bothered an FA Cup run would have been nice and earned a bit of money for the club but the league is the main priority.

Notts showed some bright moments but again we were very pedestrian, I thought Khouyar was our best player, I’m not convinced that Griffiths should replace Roos, I wasn’t too impressed with him I think he’s too inexperienced to be the No. 1.

It was good to see the youngsters get some minutes the experience will be good for them, we move on to a Monday now and hopefully a win but it won’t be easy against Cotterills Cheltenham they are doing well since he arrived.

I didn't much like MP's post match presser. I think he wants to be confrontational with the DoF and the Technical Board. Jarvis at least got some shots away. Griffiths not a ready made replacement for Roos.

Harrison Iwunze does look one for the future

In my opinion there was nothing positive to take from the Utd match last night. The Head Coach chose a weakened side to face Utd, so basically making it a near certainty that Notts would lose.

As far as the Cups not being a priority, I totally disagree with this mantra. Other clubs in League 2 put the Cups as a priority, why not Notts?

Other leading clubs in League 2 want a good cup run because it earns money for their club. It also gets the fan base rocking, & also gets the club national attention in a positive way. More importantly, a good cup run breeds confidence which is vital when looking for success in the league.

Two defeats in a matter of days, one by a non league club, the 2nd by a team of youngsters, & the manner of those defeats, isn't a good look by any means. A week ago, things looked so positive,. In just a week, that positivity has evaporated.

A third defeat, a week on Monday, against an improving Cheltenham side, will put lots of pressure on the Notts Head Coach.

What makes you say that @Piethagoram ? I’ve just listened to the interview and I didn’t hear the DoF or Technical Board mentioned or referred to.

I did hear him say that the door is closed to certain players who he has made a decision on, I wasn’t too happy with that comment it doesn’t help harmony within the group, I’d rather him say the door is always open if the players work hard and show that they deserve to be in the starting 11.

How are #Notts reserves to get really competitive match time @Robbie ? Iwunze looks like he could be useful and all the Notts youngsters didnt look out of place v Man Utd U21

@Fan of Big Tone His stance on his out of favour players, say Jarvis and Traore, who were Montague signings.... Post match debriefs may be interesting to be a fly on the wall

I thought he said that the door was open to all the players in the team that night, Traore and Jarvis were both in the team which suggests the door is closed to certain players who didn’t feature at all.
