Improving Match Officials

Now, no doubt this is a very hard and demanding role to cover.

Good referee's don't grow on trees, just like good English players! They've got to be given a chance to step up and even sometimes they will make mistakes but it's got me wondering, how can we improve things?

There's some very good ref's in the non league, who are held back by an unfair system. I'd like to see it based on how ref's or assistants actually do, which would be unlikely but the current method isn't exactly working. You can forgive the odd mistake but not several in one game, that is just a joke.

It's very disappointing to see more and more games having the outcome decided by bad decisions. There is no doubt that some teams are favoured in matches. Refs are too quick to book players early on for minor things and therefore increase the chances of a sending off. I personally think the standard of the match officials in our league is appalling. I pay good money out and look forward to games only for it to be spoilt by incompetent officials. If officials are proven to have made errors and dropped for a few games it wouldn't give your team the points back they should have had!!

Super always says the best refs are the ones you don't notice.

you watch world cup games and see refs from peru or from other nations where you wonder why they are so good, though its weird.

think its out game to be honest, its fast and refs seem to struggle to keep up. i am not sure what to suggest in order to fix it but the leagues should be looking into doing something. its important to make sure each and every area have the best possible, teams, leagues, refs etc

teams get rejected for promotion for not having a suitable stadium but yet we see refs who have no club continue to guide games.
