It's certainly a leftfield appointment for them. He's got an experienced assistant in Mark McGhee, but there's no guarantee that a well-regarded coach will make it as a manager.

it depends if hes been a manager in the making for years, like jamie fullerton. ????

there are coaches who are nothing more than that and then theres good coaches who understand that a managerial position is different. fullerton acted like a school head master and always thought he knew best. good luck to the stockport manager, as he should be a million times better than jamie.
