Slocombe 4 One poor kick led to one Hornchurch goal

DKE 4.5 Expected to be more influential

Rawlinson 3 Passing was woeful at times. His lack of ability on the ball seems to have been targeted

Ellis 5 Why no further use of the long throw

Barnett 4 Defensive position and awareness consistently at fault

Doyle 4 Injured at the end, a few good passes but overall ineffective especially defensively

Reeves 3 Poor penalty, poor desire

Enzio 3.5 Losing possession consistently in good positions

Ruben 4.5 legs to get into position to score, well marked

Miller 4 out of position but thought he offered something

Wootton 4.5 missed some great chances

Subs

Sam 5.5 scored, looked lively, shame about the rest of the team

Knowles 4.5 One good shot but need to hit the target

JOB 4 Offers less than Ruben

Well done for offering ratings Piethagoram, it would be too painful for me.  I know some see this competition as an irrelevant embarrassment, but for me we were one game away from a Wembley final, with the added bonus that fans might be in attendance.  We were well on top for the first 20 minutes, but once they equalised we were beyond pathetic.  Some of their players seemed to be carrying more weight than those in the Hucknall pub side we play in preseason friendlies when we win 11-0, but it was still more than we could cope with.  We can't blame the old manager or the new manager, the blame today lies squarely with the players who were simply outfought.  The players in red wanted it a lot more than the players in black and white, simple as that.

Slocombe – 5 – Not too much could’ve been done with the goals, maybe Pilling with the faster reactions might have just tipped that first goal onto the post (I dunno) but yeah the kick that lead up to the 2nd was poor.

D-KE – 5.5 – Probably the best from the back four today, he was coming up against players twice his weight! Was out of position for the second goal but was obviously told to play higher.

Ellis – 4.5 – Looked easier to get at in a 2, getting span and then out ran by their sizeable No. 9 set the tone for him.

Rawlinson – 4.5 – Not his usual self. A bit bullied at times, struggled but probably had more of the ball than he wanted. Ardley mentioned a week or so ago both him and Lacey had been playing with knocks, really think he could benefit from a break now.

Barnett – 5.5 – Dangerous in the first half, quick and linked well with Enzio and also played very high. Never really got going the 2nd, the famous struggling of trapping a ball returned for him.

Reeves – 4 – Struggled to really dominate the midfield, tried but not as influential as he should’ve been. I thought he was playing way too deep at times (him and Doyle).

Doyle – 4.5 – Decent on the ball but defensively struggled along with Reeves. We really should've been able to dominate the midfield.

Miller – 5.5 – Worked hard, lively some good forwards runs, again like the team better in the first half, struggled in the second.

Rodrigues – 6 – Thought it was harsh to be subbed so early. But first half was genuinely good. Nice touches in, good reactions for the goal. Only criticism is that he should’ve tried to get on the ball more…

Enzio – 5.5 – At times he was great, other times not so much but at least he tried to beat his full-back when 1 on 1 (although it wasn’t always coming off for him).

Wootton – 6 – Very dangerous in the 1st half, great strength for the goal. Didn’t really get on the ball much in the second but that wasn’t his fault.

Subs

O’Brien – 5 – Good running off the ball, but didn’t do a lot when he got the ball.

Knowles – 5.5 – OK, considering he was slightly out of position.

Sam – 5.5 – Right place for the goal, carried the ball well at times but never really caused them too many problems.

Didn’t watch the pens live was too much for me by then and given our recent history with them I thought we’d only score 2. Slocombe would’ve been disappointed not to save the one down the middle and Reeves, well that just summed his day up.

I was only casually watching (in the background) so not fair for me to offer ratings.

Chuckle brothers usual performance. Enzio looked to have an off day. Rawlinson poor. Barnett again poor.
