Ratings v Sutton

Slocombe - 7 - We miss him everytime he's injured. Excellent shot stopping and command of his area.

DKE - 4.5 - Love the blood and thunder of DKE, but it's daft to make that challenge in the situation.
Rawlinson - 5.5 - First goal isn't his fault as he is isolated against the fastest man on the pitch. Still looks uncomfortable on the right of the back 3.
Ellis - 6 - Collectively need to defend their 2nd better. Won his fare share in the air and gets the penno.
Chicksen - 6 - His good touch and ability to pass help as part of this back 3.
Miller - 6 - He was actually pretty decent going forward. Typically naiive at the back to get the yellow.

Doyle - 5 - Not his finest game. Some key passes, but he's at fault for the first where he just stands on the ball. His lack of legs to get back quick enough exposes us at times.
Reeves - 6 - Looked a lot better going forward and being positive. Gives DKE a hospital pass for the second off.
Rodrigues - 10 - What a player. They didn't know what to do with him, absolutely immense performance.

Wootton - 6.5 - Anonymous in the first half, improved thereafter. Very happy (and relieved) he gets his goal. Got absolutely nothing from the ref and probably unlucky not to have a second (ref again!).
Knowles - 2 - A boy playing a mans game.

Subs:

Sam - 6 - Not polished, but put himself about and helped in freeing up Wootton. Marginal call for the offside goal.
Brindley - 6 Got forward well.
Turner - N/A

Slocombe 7 – Good to have him back, love that he comes out and deals with balls into the box to relieve the pressure.

Kelly-Evans 4.5 – Not his finest hour, Olaofe rattled him. Daft to lunge in on a yellow.

Rawlinson 6 – I don’t know what it is about him and back 3 but the minute we go back to 2 CBs he looks like prime Cannavaro again.

Ellis 7 – Won a good load of headers at the back, vital in winning us that pen.

Chicksen 6.5 – Now here’s someone who does look decent in a back 3, just really steady but solid performance from him.

Miller 6 – Couldn’t lack his effort first half, tried to get at their defence and did cause them a few problems.

Doyle 5.5 – A bit invisible in that first half, you really do have to pass it to his feet any 50/50 ball and he’s usually second there. His lack of pace was an issue with the mobile Sutton lot.

Reeves 5.5 – Lots of effort and energy but little quality. Far too many sloppy balls and that pass didn’t exactly help D-KE out.

Rodrigues 9 – We wouldn’t have got the 3 goals without him, so classy on the ball always looks for a killer pass too.

Knowles 5 – Not much service, decent chance but he got his header all wrong.

Wootton 7 – Second half was so much better than the first. Really caused their defenders issues, won numerous balls in the air and hold play was really quite good. Might want to give the Sutton GK a thank you note for the goal though!

Subs

Sam 6 – Glimpses of quality there, I think he’s capable of much more though.

Brindley 6.5 – Slotted in as expected, dealt with their threats from the left-hand side.

Oh and...

National League/BT -1 – For allowing a game that isn’t on bank holiday to kick off at 5pm.

I'd knock another point off for again rolling out the Notts hating pair of Holt and Virgo. Both didn't have a good word to say about us, as usual. Big grudge against us. Maybe a Notts fan bagged their misses?
